If you have not yet been to see the scale model of NYC built by Joe Macken out of cardboard and balsa wood over a period of 21 years you only have until the 12th of October to see it! It's at the Museum of the City of New York, by the north east end of Central Park

Passkeys maybe technically great, but I’m surprised that there’s no way of disabling them in environments where they don’t make sense (think elderly folks/kids accounts, small teams) In that vain, I’ve just opened FB24847255: Ability to disable passkeys

I understand why MapKit JS is locked down/requires an access token, but at the same time it’s a shame that it is. It’s well past time for browsers to ship a <map> and <pin> element which renders using the platform/map of the users choice tbh

@bsky.app it’s super frustrating to be searching for cloud related terms and for literally the entire search results feed to be NSFW pics, even if they’re hidden Are there any plans to fix moderation/search? Just hiding NSFW results isn’t really an option when some folks tag swearing as NSFW

If @edmilibandmp.bsky.social is running for PM, then there’s only one possible campaign slogan he can use, right? “It’s time for chaos with Ed Miliband”

I'm a big fan of Claude, which works great. Occasionally I see a PR on GitHub that uses Copilot and I take a look at what's happening Every time I open a Copilot PR there's a message along these lines 🫠

Shout out to the cyclist wearing lycra, who, immediately after complaining at me moving to the left hand side of the lane (to give someone pulling off from the pavement space) opts to run straight through a red light super fast 👌

Miliband lost the election because of a Bacon sandwich Truss was pitted against a Lettuce Presumably that means whenever Starmer goes it'll be Tomato related?

Today's "what if I asked #Claude to build something absolutely ridiculous" - a Remote Desktop server that plays Snake (no Windows required). All deployed onto @railway.com to keep things simple. Try it yourself: rdc.ibuildstuff.eu

Truly, my kingdom for @railway.com to support TCP ports with custom domains (like they do for HTTPS services) Spinning up a container elsewhere to proxy the custom domain/expected port to the TCP port/hostname used by Railway gets old fast 🙃

The new cycling infrastructure on Karl-Marx-Allee into Alexanderplatz is 👌 However this is the third time in a week I’ve seen cars turning right using the dedicated bike lane rather than the car lanes, maybe it needs some bollards? 🤔 #berlin

Just had a flashback to when a friend customised a pizza but forgot to include either cheese or a sauce in the options When it arrived he opened the box to find a cooked pizza base and 8 meatballs rolling around the box 😂

Today in, "here's a crazy idea made [quicker] by #claude" I really dislike email spam - so I thought to myself, could I avoid that problem altogether? What if you had an SSH contact form, instead? Terrible idea? Probably 🤔

Today in #claude experiments, what happens if we tried to make a multiplayer 3D web-based shooter in the browser (entirely without coding)?
A 3D web-based multiplayer shooter game, entirely generated by Claude Code.

Today's #Claude experiment: what if we took a series of issues with existing infrastructure as code tooling and tried to fix that? ~2 hours of prompting later, I have a test CLI (in the most limited sense) deploying, CRUDing and performing operations on actual resources. Wild.

Today I'm continuing experiment with #Claude, but in the #Infrastructure space. I've opted to include this prompt, because I'm a lil salty about all of the unnecessary renames over the years
Asking Claude to account for PMs renaming their products, somewhat sarcastically

Yesterday I was reminiscing about how good the multiplayer (precinct assault) was in FutureCop: LAPD (PS1 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDEX...) and decided to look into acquiring a copy for old times sake. I very quickly learnt that a "good" copy is hella expensive (100-250€). BUT we have AI now.

The thermostat in my flat crashes if you press the buttons to fast and takes 20 seconds for a full reboot It’s also got touch sensitive buttons that register phantom touches Quite the combination when it’s -9c outside tbh

Earlier /this year/, a Berlin bar asked people to come more often because they were struggling with increased costs They allow smoking inside, I suggested that some dedicated smoke free nights would increase footfall - as I’ve lost count of the number of people who won’t go because of the smoking

Whilst waiting for @phoenix.tapbots.com I figured I’d try and add a native iOS translation sheet to @bsky.app It’s interesting much better the dev UX is for the translate related gubbins is when using SwiftUI vs not (bsky uses react native)

Really gotta hand it to government bureaucracy for innovating on the circular dependency front. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new appears. “Can’t innovate, my ass”

As someone who uses Apple Pay, it’s interesting to see people use Google pay I don’t think I’ve ever seen it work the way people expect it to, there’s always some confusion about whether the app is ready, if the phone is in the right place, etc Half the time people give up and use a card instead?

A while back I stopped giving out my email unless it was absolutely necessary (I dislike email) So many modern systems arbitrarily require an email, when the process itself doesn’t Like checking into a hotel - the machines need an email but just chat with someone and it’s by-passable #datenschutz

Search engines should be compelled to show a list of _why_ a particular result has been removed, ala the way GitHub's DMCA repo works

Owning code in production changes how we write it. ‘You Build It, You Run It’ isn’t asking too much of developers, imo. It’s a great way to build reliable software.

Before - no filtersAfter - now with filtering on HTTP methods, status codes, uris, and the source

Genuinely ridiculous that in 2025 roaming packages can max out at 10MB of data per day (This was the only package for this destination, and yes you can get a local sim..)

This is incredible reporting. Not the breach itself but the mention of Workday putting a noindex tag in its breach disclosure page, which effectively tells search engines to ignore it. techcrunch.com/2025/08/18/h...
