The “no experience” argument doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t believe we should set such a limiting condition for potential MPs otherwise we leave the door open for career politicians only (which is why so much of our politics is the way it is).

Text: There was Thursday night's opening of a new show of artwork by Todd Atticus, best-known for his amazing range of book covers for Te Herenga Waka University Press, eg The Book of Guilt by Catherine Chidgey. You could hear a kind of melody of that playful cover in his pictures on display at The Tasman Building, 16-22 Anzac Ave, downtown Auckland. Each image presented the word ALAS in various poses of aquamarine blue against white. God they're great, and priced between $950-$2400. The exhibition runs till July 25. Go, see, collect.
