Thanks! I use TextSniper and it's great. I've been playing with Camscanner for bulk scanning but the line-by-line scanner has been the weak link.

@normcharlatan.bsky.social, I think this works a lot better with desktop than mobile. It's a lot easier to correct and supplement scanned text when you don't have to do the clunky process of switching keyboards on phone. I expect I'll be using it mainly with my laptop.

I guess he also had a talent for identifying future leaders, which ensured that he ended up as the namesake for a doctrine that he never actually articulated and was mostly the result of tactical maneuvering.

I'm reading a few different books by and about Yoshida Shigeru and I've come to the conclusion that he was lucky and tenacious but fairly unremarkable as a thinker or as a political practitioner. Made the right friends at GHQ, benefited from a political landscape cleared of any political talent.

I assume that the Brewers outplaying the Dodgers and - check notes - Cleveland and Tampa playing in the ALCS will lead everyone who has talked about the Dodgers ruining baseball and justifying a salary cap will all reconsider their arguments. This is the age of updating priors isn't it?
