Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Honestly it was lovely - there is still a whole set of young adults in Northampton who stand up automatically on the first few beats of the song. 020
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Incredibly sad - she did loads for education and we even used her as the movement bell in my first school. 1172
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Isn’t it also possible that people will vote for them without realising they are themselves being targeted by their policies…? 111
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 14/08/2026I would appreciate a ‘in one minute there will be a “this is bloody important alarm” coming in one minute’ text just beforehand. 010

Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 29/07/2026It’s that really difficult balance between on an individual level, finding the right route for your own youngster, whilst understanding that you can’t make policy that way as other young people have very different levels of advocacy. 221
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Access to that next layer of ‘secure’ employment, still feels inaccessible to him and he has almost nothing ‘formal’ to show for his years in education. 110
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 29/07/2026This resonates with me. My wife and I adopted our two when they were 5 and 8. We were both teachers, we prioritised education but singularly failed to make school a point of success. One lad picked up all sorts of softer skills and has three or four casual jobs that he balances and bounces between. 130
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 28/07/2026As a sector, we can deliver effectively on most things if we are given time, resources and if policies are given time to embed. The experiences we’ve all had with diplomas, T levels, V levels etc would suggest we may not be… 140

Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 27/07/2026I am bizarrely committed to always travelling home with my holiday laundry done. 3 missing ATMs, one closed Lavandara later - I am sitting whilst the wash cycle runs. Small victories. 2140

Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Av has done 6 weeks of duo lingo before our trip to Porto. She just confidently ordered an iced americano for her and a bottle of water for me. What came out was two hot black americanos and a jug of hot milk. 1110

While schools can never please everyone chances are your kid's has made the best decisions about opening and heat adaptations based on its individual circumstance. Assume competence. Leaders and teachers are at least as hot and grumpy as you. 2296
Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 21/06/2026We have shortened period 5 by 10 minutes and added in a water break. We bought air con units for our hottest 25 class rooms but it’s not cheap and won’t help our electric bill! 0101

Tim Marston @tmarstonht.bsky.social · 28/05/2026I think that’s spot on. We have some great successes but it is really inconsistent. Some really positive bespoke examples in the sixth form - really patchy at KS4. Year 11s doing an extended slot after their GCSEs have finished has been more successful than other options. 160
