Background in IT, project management and consulting. Very concerned about the future of our earth and its precious life. Let's leave the combustion age behind us and stop burning dead things for energy! Renewable energy and electrification are the future.

The renewable industry need to get some mongrel in them. Maybe point out that without wind power bills will much higher, maybe talk about additional income for farmers as climate change kills their business, as well as their families

Hold the bastards to account Monique. This is a disaster for the climate.

Hi Chris, I'm very glad that I got off gas completely and now use solar power instead. I am concerned that we need to get a return from our sovereign non renewable resources. I don't think we are at all. We could fix cost of living problems by taxing the exports and removing the diesel fuel rebate.

It's tragic that are now experiencing exactly what was forecast for climate extremes, 50 years ago. Despite that, the fossil fuel funded denial bots and their political appointees, rage on about the " climate change scam". Tragic that we could have avoided this. Now our children will pay price.

Spot on Dan. I thought that until a few Russian data centres bit the dust, we were still drowning in bullshit!

My son was 1 when world leaders pledged to keep global warming below 1.5C in an attempt to avoid irreversible climate collapse. When he was 10 the planet spent a whole year above 1.5C. By the time he’s 14, 1.5C will likely be crossed forever. The greatest betrayal in the history of our species.

Glad I have heaps of solar power to run my home and charge my EV. I feel sorry for anyone being screwed by greedy oil companies.

Diesel fuel is such a slimy, carcinogenic toxine, that if you accidentally copped a mouthful while siphoning, you'd be ill for some time. Better to drive an EV and "borrow" someone else's electricity!

If you have a battery, sign up with Amber. Wholesale market is volatile at times. After no action over winter, yesterday's heat drove demand high- and I made $150 from trading electricity. I think I may have shared a sign up bonus code with you some time ago? Happy to send you the info again

But what about the profits of the oil and gas companies? Oh, that's right. Protected by the USA, which is really an oil company with a military.

Drones can be deployed by the thousands to protect more of our coastline than any imaginary submarine. More US bases run by the US military - no thanks. No more nuclear waste either, please.

I'd like to think so, but the right wing climate change denying lunatics (Barnaby as Gina's puppet, LNP, advance, Murdoch, Coal Australia, Minerals Council etc etc) will fight with all the power they can muster - every step of the way.

What I don't get is, at some point (imagine a world without climate breakdown) we are going to run out of oil - it's a finite non reusable resource. What then? Uranium is also a finite resource. Sun and wind are inexhaustible, for about 5 billion years. Not that humans will last that long.

To be fair more than half a million people have benefited from the cheaper home batteries scheme. It's had a huge impact on wholesale electricity prices. The EV FBT discount is good policy too. Not so good is the approval of 37 fossil fuel projects - we gotta stop them 🛑!

This is really good news, fuel is free sunshine. The strategic exposure we have is to diesel. Industry loves free diesel fuel and has no incentive to reduce its use (eg BHP $600m in fuel tax credits last year). We have to electrify our food supply chain as diesel is polluting, expensive and imported

Very good question. There are a couple of reasonable scooters, thinking of Fonz and a lightweight NZ brand Streetdog - but nothing affordable to replace the petrol powered sports tourer with ~300km of range.

Yes; to think you can't buy one from 2027 on, in the country where they are made. The " connected services" are Google and comply with EU privacy rules (GDPR). Volvo have exactly the same technology, yet received some exemption? Bizarre world of US politics.

Halloween wasn't brought to Australia by Irish or European immigrants in the 19th century. It turned up in a relentless wave of American sitcoms on TV in the 1960s. It took about 20 years of this before it became established.

Apart from being turned into a nuclear waste dump, becoming a nuclear target and never actually getting any submarines, the other problems with AUKUS is that the USA cannot be trusted and we need drones instead. Oh, sacrificing our sovereignty too.
