1. People seem upset that I associated the language in Trump’s Gold Standard Science executive order with the science reform movement, in this Guardian piece. “Trump would have attacked science anyway” Of course. But it’s not Trump that is the biggest concern. It’s the courts.

And they will recognise the old term 'Danthonia' for Wallaby Grasses (in the USA = Poverty Grass or Oatgrass). Now Rytidosperma in Aust (only). And there's no way any truck would keep up w a Fairlane in those days, the latter being good for 120 mph (my dad had one, until I stacked it😔)

Ronni, loved the book. Lent my copy to a Kiwi and it hasn't come back! FWIW, Yanks will know Phragmites as Common Reed (or less often as Reedmace), and Cumbungi as Cattail. The common names can refer to a number of species, so I wouldn't worry too much about the latin names.
