I used to fall asleep everywhere. I fell asleep standing up. I slept through a Napalm Death set. They tested me for damn near everything as a teenager and young adult. Then finally in my 30s I put on some weight and only THEN did they test me for sleep apnea. Which was the problem the whole time.
