Unironically the best actor in the film. (I mean, comparatively anyway, lol)

thunderbird32 @thunderbird32.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

As someone with no electronics repair knowledge and can't solder, I feel like I'm catching strays in this post. And hey, at least they put it in the free pile and didn't throw it out.

Honestly, hard to argue with those two picks! I'd say both are in my top ten as well

I enjoyed boygenius, but I think on the whole that Julien Baker is the primary reason I enjoyed it. At least for my tastes.

What good are they then? Isn't fighting injustice kinda the point?

Have you been to Galloping Ghost in Brookfield? Such a place of joy

*So* good! Though I have to say, "Post" is right up there too

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains. #The90s

The Magnetic Fields - The Charm of the Highway Strip

He covers it on his 1970 album "Encouraging Words" and I can't recommend that album enough. It's real good!

As a current employee of a higher-ed institution, I'm going to withhold my opinions so as to not get myself in trouble, lol

Don't know about white guys in the 90s, but I knew a lot of white guys (myself included) in the 2000s that were into both (although more-so Rush than The Doors in my case), so I'd believe it

Even so, I do wish you'd do another run of Dimitri's lighting-bolt shirt. I'd love to buy another one :P

Was there more than one printing of volume one (or in different size)? Mine is taller and thinner than that one... Also, I somehow missed that any other volumes ever got released, oops!

I buy music (I've got 380 purchases in my name between Bandcamp and Qobuz), but the streamers are good for music discovery. To, you know, figure out what I like so I can buy it.

It's getting really hard not to be a doomer about things. I'm not, not yet, but it's getting *really* difficult.

The other reason we use cars is because we need drastic improvements in public transit. Outside of Chicago or going into Chicago (*love* Metra), it's difficult to get around without a car in the suburbs. The difference in time between me driving to work and taking Pace is half-an-hour and a transfer

My dad (@unclelar.bsky.social) came up from Kentucky this weekend and brought me some delicacies from that southern land! Love the original flavor, excited to try the blackberry.

Two six-packs of bottled soda sitting on a kitchen counter. A pack of regular flavor Ale-8 and a pack of blackberry flavor.

Yeah, I was worried about this one. I think I'd have preferred Kelly, but I'll take it.

I think I've said it before, but I'm glad to be in the 14th district. I do not envy the folks that have to make this decision.

I get that you're doing it to line up with South By, but next time just do it in Chicago (The Onion) or Seattle (Bluesky), my dude. Nobody wants to go to Texas in 2026

No, the lesson is to not use *email* if you value your privacy. You can make it *more* secure, never completely secure. Also, paying by credit card is bad OPSEC if you're doing nefarious deeds.

Yup, I remember installing Linux and Solaris on second-hand servers in high school. Got me into IT, and today I'm a sysadmin *because* of that.

For non-smartbulbs I can second that Sylvania have been quite good. For smartbulbs I've had good luck with Aquara

It's a pity that John Flansburgh is probably too busy (what with the new TMBG album coming out), but I would love to see them work together again. Artificial Heart is still my favorite Coulton album.

All I know is, they're not getting any ID from me. They've already proven they can't be trusted with people's data (after the 3rd party they picked to do age verification for the UK got hacked). As soon as they age-gate me, I'm done with them.
