There are twelve candidates for mayor. The Freep’s front page online currently mentions Klein four times. No other candidate is mentioned or imaged. The media has a lot of influence in local elections, and good lord is that influence ever being used in a very specific way right now.

Good lord I’m getting sick of every person yelling “it’s AI” about every thing they see and/or read and don’t like. Humans make mistakes. It’s incredibly degrading to accuse people of using AI when you have zero evidence of them doing so, and lessens the argument when AI is actually being used.

Hey now, I’m a Leaf fan. Don’t lump me in with the rest of the people here… But yeah, there’s a bit of historical distaste for the Oilers given the Smythe Division matchups in the 80’s, but there’s a general acceptance of other Canadian teams here. Just not the Leafs.

That whole original thread is a really great example of confident ignorance. Obviously I don’t know how American systems work, but to think there’s nobody tracking metrics and constantly improving things in any industry outside of aerospace is insane. Especially in government/policy related fields.

Sure, you aren’t using the best stuff and the coaches are not experts, but it gets kids playing. This exists for soccer, baseball, football, basketball, etc. but seems to be severely lacking for hockey.

IMO it’s not really the travel teams that are the issue, it’s the lack of “effort” in finding a cheaper alternative (for hockey at least). In most other sports you can find an “entry” tier where a club/community center owns and provides equipment, has a field, etc. that can be used.

As some with a PhD who studied applied exercise physiology, yes. It really is that simple for most. Hell, for like 80% of people just think of the movements you want to do as you get older, and do them holding something you find heavy.

Ahhh I get you. I totally agree with that. It’s a logical progression that regulators just haven’t kept up with. The argument I don’t agree with is that we should be forcing continued production of physical discs for software, which seems to be what a lot of people are demanding.

I get what you’re saying here, but expanding the tournament absolutely watered down the groups. I think it has worked out well from a viewer perspective, but the quality of each group was definitely lower than the past, which would help teams like Canada and South Africa get into second.

So many cyclist deaths begin with a stationary driver blocking the bike lane. The disconnect between cyclists, who see this as a life-threatening reckless action, and drivers, who see this is a minor parking infraction, is what often leads to discord.
