I’m playing FFIX on the Switch only to find this mod that makes everything look so much better. But I’m already 7 hours in and not doing it again, no matter how much nicer that crisp image and widescreen is compared to my pixelation and mandatory borders, so RIP me.

After trying and failing to get into Blue, Yellow, and Sapphire, Pokémon Pearl was the game that finally clicked with me. To this day, I have never sunk as many hours into a game as I did with Pearl. Throughout 2007, I marathoned every prior Pokémon game, and I continued to be obsessed until Gen 5.

Imagine if the Rambi Rumble from Donkey Kong Bananza was a whole game where you could ride on different animal buddies as your favorite DK characters, and race through the jungle, underwater, etc. I wonder why they never thought of this amazing concept! What would such a game even be called anyway?

Saw a thread where people genuinely don't understand how people can dislike Pokemon Gen 5. It's called subjectivity. I don't think its a worse game than the ones that came before it. But that doesn't stop its creative choices from being an affront to my personal sensibilities.

New Fire Emblem is getting glowing reviews and will likely sell extremely well. Just like with Zelda, all I can do is hope for remakes to satiate me, since the new games are nothing like the ones that made me a fan.

Been watching old Godzilla movies I’ve been meaning to see. GMK was great, with fun action and an engaging storyline. Went backwards to finally watch Return of Godzilla, which was incredibly boring with very little action. Typical boardroom rambling abound, coupled with a cheap looking costume.

Forgotten Land was a masterpiece, so I’m sure World Beyond will be great and I can’t wait to play it. Still, I wish it didn’t look so unimaginative. Fun dev story: Scribblenauts Unlimited was a WiiU launch title. We were working with hardware that was being developed in real time, which introduced all the issues you can imagine - easy to brick the hardware, documentation that was half translated, 3rd party libraries completely unsupported, etc

Playing Ocarina of Time on the N64 was a magical experience… up until around when I made it to the castle courtyard, at which point my scumbag dad came in the room with his attitude and ensured I’ll always have bad memories attached to what should have been a defining experience.

I ended up playing Persona 3 Reload instead. Currently over 50 hours in and I just got hit with that certain sad scene. Koro: Oooooo! I’m enjoying the game much more than P3 FES, which I played almost 15 years ago. Also much more than P5, which is my last time with the series, nearly 10 years ago.

Thinking of selling every last thing I own. I don’t know what it will accomplish, but there’s a mysterious appeal to just owning the bare minimum. I’d never have to ponder what to do. I‘d own nothing, so I’d do nothing.
