Three days of existing in a nerd utopia. I got to meet and talk with amazing people like Grant Kirkhope, Chris Sutherland, and Kev Bayliss. Got my old N64 games signed. Met the AVGN and Justin Silverman. Went to cool panels. Took pics with awesome cosplayers. Bought SO MUCH STUFF. #retrogamecon

32.) Monkey Ball The original arcade game with the banana joystick! I found a secret that let me skip about half the levels. The final level was super difficult, but with the Prince and the King of All Cosmos behind me, cheering me on, I managed to beat it after much effort!

I’m playing FFIX on the Switch only to find this mod that makes everything look so much better. But I’m already 7 hours in and not doing it again, no matter how much nicer that crisp image and widescreen is compared to my pixelation and mandatory borders, so RIP me.

After trying and failing to get into Blue, Yellow, and Sapphire, Pokémon Pearl was the game that finally clicked with me. To this day, I have never sunk as many hours into a game as I did with Pearl. Throughout 2007, I marathoned every prior Pokémon game, and I continued to be obsessed until Gen 5.

Today, I learned that Neo Turf Masters, a game I’ve heard the name of countless times, is actually about golf and is not, in fact, a gritty Streets of Rage-style beat-em-up about gangs defending their turf like I had always assumed based on its title.

Imagine if the Rambi Rumble from Donkey Kong Bananza was a whole game where you could ride on different animal buddies as your favorite DK characters, and race through the jungle, underwater, etc. I wonder why they never thought of this amazing concept! 30.) Persona 3 Reload I beat P3FES back in 2012 and had a low opinion of it that only lessened with time. Now I've decided to play Reload on a whim. 90+ hours of playtime have passed, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I loved it. It's deep, poignant, relatable, and addictive. Easily a 9.5/10

I don't like Pokemon Black & White because it's an ugly game with a dull color palette, hideous pixelated battle animations, cringey characters, music that ranges from forgettable to grating, and an awful Pokedex full of hideous designs. I really do like the ice cream and trash bag Pokemon though.

Saw a thread where people genuinely don't understand how people can dislike Pokemon Gen 5. It's called subjectivity. I don't think its a worse game than the ones that came before it. But that doesn't stop its creative choices from being an affront to my personal sensibilities.

I‘m hoping one day, they release an abridged, DBZ Kai style director’s cut that repurposes the trilogy into a single 70 hour game. Get rid of all the padding and I think the game could be an easy 9/10.

I followed it up with Biollante, which was even worse. The plot was both boring and absurd. Biollante’s final form looked like Kraid from Super Metroid, which was cool, but it’s only on-screen for about 5 minutes. My next movie will be Against Mechgodzilla, which I have high hopes for.

Been watching old Godzilla movies I’ve been meaning to see. GMK was great, with fun action and an engaging storyline. Went backwards to finally watch Return of Godzilla, which was incredibly boring with very little action. Typical boardroom rambling abound, coupled with a cheap looking costume.
