32.) Monkey Ball The original arcade game with the banana joystick! I found a secret that let me skip about half the levels. The final level was super difficult, but with the Prince and the King of All Cosmos behind me, cheering me on, I managed to beat it after much effort!

I’m playing FFIX on the Switch only to find this mod that makes everything look so much better. But I’m already 7 hours in and not doing it again, no matter how much nicer that crisp image and widescreen is compared to my pixelation and mandatory borders, so RIP me.

30.) Persona 3 Reload I beat P3FES back in 2012 and had a low opinion of it that only lessened with time. Now I've decided to play Reload on a whim. 90+ hours of playtime have passed, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I loved it. It's deep, poignant, relatable, and addictive. Easily a 9.5/10

29.) Fatum Betula Bought this yesterday for two bucks on Switch. Checked Steam to see it had great reviews, and HLTB to see it‘s only 1-2 hours long. Two bucks? Why not? After getting the first ending, I was quick to write it off as pretentious trash. But after 9 more endings? I think I liked it.

28.) Kamiko Such a short experience, like many of Skipmore’s games. But also just like most of their games, so much fun and replayability is stuffed into such a small game that I can’t help but be impressed. With three different characters to play as, I can easily see a couple replays in my future.

27.) Kuru Kuru Kururin I only turned it on for the NSO icons, but I ended up playing the whole thing. I kinda loved it, even when the difficulty spikes started raising my blood pressure. Such a simple concept, yet so addictive!

25.) Mega Man X Fresh off of X4, I wanted to replay this one to see how it holds up, since I’ve always held it in high regard. Happy to report that it’s still great. It‘s got such finely balanced difficulty and it’s fun to blast through in one sitting. And the music is some of the best on the SNES!

24.) Mega Man X4 I had a pretty great time for the most part. Finding the hidden upgrades was often a pain, but on the whole, the game was everything you could want from MMX. The graphics are an absolute spectacle, and X has so much mobility. One of the best Mega Man games I’ve played yet!

23.) Overcooked! 2 Overall, a better game than the first, with more food types and gameplay variety. The “enhanced” lighting makes it harder to see, however, and there’s an issue with overlapping icons causing lots of confusion. Still, an easier time, especially now that you can throw ingredients.

22.) Donkey Kong 64 Ah, my beloved. Those awful, repetitive minigames are the only thing keeping this game from being a consistently wonderful time from beginning to end. Everything from the music and the atmosphere, to all the fun and varied worlds and Kongs make this one of my all-time favorites.

21.) Donkey Kong Because I needed the Nintendo Coin for the last K. Lumsy key. Yes, I’m counting this. I remember when DK64 came out and I thought this and Jetpac were absurdly difficult. I put so many hours into these games. But now, yeah, it’s pretty simple. Call this the Super Mario Land effect.
