Streetartwall. On the wall of a bar is an impressive mural showing a barman behind the bar. A young blond man with blond hair and glasses is the center of attention. He is dressed in a white shirt and jeans, has a kitchen towel over his shoulder and is leaning on a wooden counter with both arms. He is looking directly at the viewer. The mural is very detailed and finely painted. You can see several bottles behind the bartender, a radio in the corner, a television, glasses, fruit, a beer keg, green ceiling lamps and much more. A very beautiful and detailed work.
Info: The inspiration was a famous painting by Manet: "Bar in the Folies-Begère", in which a
young woman standing behind the bar.

Do Bruno Paes Manso, o segundo livro já está na fila de leituras. O cruzamento entre as igrejas neopentecostais e o crime organizado. Isso depois do clássico “A República das Milícias”. No compasso pra leitura. Quem já leu?

Work is proceeding nicely on The Complete Betty Brown, Ph.G. Lots of strips grab my attention, but this sequence from 1938 is among the more jolting in the series. Showing the title character getting beat up by her boyfriend is strong stuff!

Today in random stuff from my collection, Shazam! From the 40’s to the 70’s. The cover by Kurt Schaffenberger is a recreation of C.C. Beck’s painted cover to Mary Marvel’s first appearance in Captain Marvel Adventures #18 (1942).

The cover shows Captain Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. standing in front of a curtain with smiles on their faces. They are presenting Mary, who is in between them, and waving to the audience.

Sometimes I just wanna read a Little Lulu comic. Especially when every story inside was written by John Stanley.

Marge’s Little Lulu #127 (1959). On the cover, Lulu is sitting on a stool eating ice cream, while Tubby is trapped under there stool.
