Streetart. On a gray road there is a small chalk drawing of a mouse and a green dragon. The dragon is lying on the ground and laughing. The mouse is standing next to him in a blue dress and looking at him. While he laughs, the dragon spits brown-red leaves that are very real next to the sidewalk.

It's going to be 40 degrees … And the last thing I want to read or see to take my mind off things is people telling me that it's going to be 40 degrees, or "It's only 20 degrees here," or that the world is coming to an end. Social media is hell.

Streetartwall. A mural for the 2019 election was sprayed/painted on a 420 square meter wall in Dresden. In the colors yellow and green and designed like an art nouveau poster, a girl is depicted with a ballot box. She is wearing a shirt and a long-sleeved T-shirt on top of each other and has short curly hair peeking out from under a baseball cap. She is holding a rose in her hand. The young woman is depicted from head to toe as a huge painting (7.00 x 2.00 m) on a beige background. Photography and art. A color photograph of a sculpture in an exhibition space in Korea, showing two naked, hairless human figures sitting side by side on a brown block and holding hands. They look a little like 1 meter tall dolls, but the figures are both only half, as if they had each been cut in half. Twins split in half. The object, which is interesting in itself, stands in front of a glass front that reveals a view of green, bushy ferns. This confuses the viewer, as one involuntarily wants to complete the two figures in one's mind, as there are clear cuts between the green, the half-human, the green in between, the next half-human and the green again. Both the sculpture and the photo are thought-provoking and that is... Art.

Streetartwall. A fantastic mural based on a comic drawing by Max Cabannes has been installed on the outside wall of a four-storey building on the city wall. The huge mural (120 m²) is painted entirely in shades of blue and shows a girl leaning against the city wall and looking down on the city below. This painted light blue wall connects to the real city wall on the right. The mural shows the view of a town built into the rock on the wall of the house. It incorporates parts of the surroundings, such as roofs and parts of buildings, e.g. the city wall, and continues them in an imaginary view. Photography. A black and white photo of a group of children playing on a long slide. The picture shows a lively scene on a hill, which is overgrown with grass on the side. A curved metal slide leads from top to bottom and serves as the center of the action. A child climbs up the hill while another child slides down in the middle of the slide. In the foreground, a teenager stands with his legs apart at the end of the slide and looks up at this child. Two more children are standing next to him and others are standing at the top of the hill. The children are dressed in woolen sweaters or jackets and jeans. A multi-storey concrete apartment building can be seen in the background. Although the natural light in the photo is subdued, it radiates the vibrancy and energy of the children playing in a rather poor residential area. A fleeting beautiful moment captured forever.
Info: The photo is from the series "D'un Jour, L'autre" by Belgian photographer Martine Franck (1938-2012), a collection of over a hundred pictures. These are her favorite photos from her 30-year career. Martine Franck was also the wife of the famous photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson, but her narrative style is different. $Photography. A breathtaking color photo of a glacial landscape in New Zealand in winter. The aerial view shows the branching glacial Tasman River on the South Island as it flows over the glacial moraine into Lake Pukaki. The branching thin channels of the Tasman, Godley and Cass rivers form a breathtaking tapestry of turquoise hues against the snow-covered landscape. Like a painting, the different shades of turquoise flow in long, gentle waves from the top to the bottom of the picture, where they merge into a narrow strip. Prominent snow-capped mountains (Aoraki/Mount Cook) appear in the distance, majestically framing the terrain. A breathtaking photo in the colors blue/turquoise and white with a certain drama and a skillful perspective that makes the picture appear almost two-dimensional. Info: The multi-award-winning photo was taken by Stuart Chape. He specializes in aerial photography of landscapes from helicopters and light aircraft, but portraits as well as documentary and social photography are also an important part of his portfolio. The blue coloration of the water in the photo is caused by the refraction of light on fine particles of silt or "glacial flour" in the water, created by glacial erosion.$

Streetartwall. A beautiful, colorful mural of a chameleon was sprayed/painted in a naive painting style on the exterior wall of a one-story house. Ivy grows on the side of the corner of the wall. The colorful chameleon looks like a small blue dragon with a long row of pink spines on its back and face, large yellow eyes and pointed blue ears. The short fiery red arms wrap around a branch, the long tail hangs down and then curls up at the end of the tail. Above it are two colorful butterflies and a black beetle sits on a green leaf. The mural is a wonderful tribute to the beauty of nature.

Streetartwall. A very cute cartoon-style capybara was sprayed/painted on the outside wall of a flat, modern building (a japanese food delivery service). It shows a capybara with a pink outfit and a pink delivery backpack, riding around on a moped. The photo only shows a section, as the whole building has been embellished with various smaller capybaras. It is the restaurant's mascot.
Info: A capybara is a water pig that lives mainly in South America. It is related to the guinea pig, looks somewhat plumper, has a large head, long, rough fur and webbed toes. It is about 130 cm long.

Streetartwall. A funny mural of a very unnerved Superman was sprayed onto a beige-colored exterior wall. The background is painted white. Superman can be seen in his full superhero outfit on a white sofa. There is a spray can of red paint on the sofa and he has sprayed a text in capital letters on the wall above it: "Wake me when it's all over!"
Info: The mural has become a classic and hangs as a poster in many art exhibitions. It simply always fits into any situation. I could post it every day.

Photography. A color photo of a Siberian flying squirrel in a snowy fork in a tree. The fur of the small animal is yellow-grey on the upper side and white on the underside. It has a small face with large, alert eyes, a button nose and long whiskers. It sits there with its paws in front of its belly and looks directly into the camera. It looks as if it is happy. A very cute and shy animal that is difficult to get in front of the camera.
Info: The Siberian flying squirrel (Pteromys volans) is slightly smaller than the squirrel at around 14 - 20 cm. It is a gliding squirrel that can glide up to 80 meters through the air with its densely hairy flying skin from the carpus to the ankle. They are nocturnal and feed on berries, nuts, fruit, leaves and bark.

Streetart. On a gray sidewalk next to little gray pebbles, a little mouse (named Nadine) has been painted with chalk. Nadine stands in front of a microphone in a long blue dress and a red guitar (given her size, it's probably more of a ukulele) and plays music in the direction of the little "rocks". Street wall: Small, black-painted and sloping house wall. You can see a mural with the upper body of a young woman sitting in the dark. Her eyes are covered with a black cloth. In her right hand, she holds a glowing white smartphone in front of her face, as if she is trying to recognize something. The very dark mural in gray, black and white creates a fascinating atmosphere of abandonment in a modern society.

Photography. A color photo of a couple on a moped in front of a wall mosaic. The photograph shows a couple in winter clothing and motorcycle helmets riding past on a road in front of a mosaic. The ceramic mosaic consists of pink and yellow flowers in various sizes and shades. It starts as a thin strip right at the height of the moped and gets wider and wider towards the top. It looks as if the flowers are coming out of the exhaust pipe of the couple's moped. A beautiful snapshot on a busy road, which must have taken the photographer a while to catch the right moment.
Info: The Work on the Hanoi Mosaic Mural began in 2007 and was completed in 2010 on the occasion of the millennial anniversary of Hanoi.
In October 2010, the Hanoi Mosaic Mural was awarded a Guinness World Records certificate for the world's largest ceramic mosaic, with a length of around 4 km.
