The weird thing with this specific plaza is that the noise complaints are almost immaterial to the decision about whether to make the plaza permanent or convert to a summer-only Open Street. The people complaining about the events being held in the plaza aren't happy with either option.

Figure the move with Boyle in relatively shallow leagues is to stream him as needed, at least until he shows some improvement on command/control?

What is this showing? Risers as in throwing fastballs from a higher arm angle? Or Risers as in some other metric measuring fastball efficacy?

Last night, our Disaster Action Team responded to a 4-alarm fire on 1st Ave in East Harlem, helping 20 people who were displaced w/ emergency assistance such as temporary lodging and financial assistance. Big thanks to our volunteers who stepped up to help neighbors in need!
Several people wearing Red Cross vests and jackets are standing on a wet sidewalk at night, engaging in conversation near a storefront with neon signage and a black awning. Additional individuals are gathered in the background, some wrapped in Red Cross blankets. Democrats seem to think the pivoting to the center makes them most electable but all it does it piss *everyone* off. Having beliefs/a backbone and being authentic is the best way to win elections. People are fucking sick of croneyism and corporate suck ups and that is why Zohran cruised to victory

it’s not only a recipe for corruption, it’s a talent issue - we lose a ton of talented folks who would do fantastic work in public service to the private sector because of the salary delta, which most people don’t have family money to make up for these are important jobs that should pay well

That is a poor way to describe it but the 2025 cycle is a pretty good example of why it's good to have NYC elections separate from a presidential or gubernatorial year. In a more competitive political media/organizing environment, we probably are looking at a Mayor Cuomo. (opinions are my own)

Last week, after a fire tore through an apartment building in Freeport, NY — displacing 19 households, our Long Island volunteers stepped up to help open a shelter for two nights.

There is a legitimate idea that we should be consistently reevaluating the scope/scale/impact of our federal programs. Obviously the current admin is not doing this in a thoughtful or productive way, but let's not pretend like everything was hunky dory before all this mess. (opinions are my own)

I mean this used to be pretty common practice - that's why you gotta get your palm cards all the way under the door. also, this is easy spin - "I was knocking on doors in my district and noticed an errant flyer on the floor, so I picked it up before somebody slipped on it." opinions my own, etc

This argument breaks down when you look at local coverage. Why should I subscribe to the Daily News/Alden or NYT when they have decimated their local desks and barely have any actual NYC news? I'm willing to pay for local journalism, but so much "news" is just clickbait and nationalized stories.
