We dont need to make figures of politics, of social change, or of history into someone palatable for a wider audience, we shouldn't sanitize this shit. We can let these people be hated for the incredible evil they enacted for decades of their lives Henry Kissinger should have rotted in piblic view.

Stain it with blood and describe the suffering and torture and how human people, no fundamentally different from you or I, allowed, enforced, and reveled in it. Admit that we sre proudly founded on inhuman evil, stop celebrating the mass murderers.

From a grand statue celebrating colonizers and european hyperviolence, a poorly maintained plaque hard to read in the colorful flashung lighting, acknowledging such facts as the local native population being reduced from 300,000 to *15,000.* Tear down the statue and make this 50 ft tall.

If you understand that political antisemitism was not just the hatred of the Jew qua Jew, but an entire worldview in which the Jew stands in for border-crossing cosmopolitan ideologies that threaten the nation-state, then you understand why the Israeli right had to reinvent it from first principles.
"The anti-Israel documentary NAZA won a prize at Venice and made international headlines.

But behind the film is a network of newsrooms, nonprofits and activists that received millions from the Soros family's Open Society Foundations"

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

Some of the escalations we're seeing, including the attack on Ilhan Omar's home (I will not pretend this act was "investigatory"), are desperate acts. But we must remember that desperate people can be very dangerous. A domestic abuse victim, for example, is in the most danger when trying to leave.

They call migration an invasion. Their "solution" to migration is paramilitary invasions of states. They've made the hate for us and malicious intents clear. We have a right and responsibility to stand against malicious invasion. The migrant is not a malicious invader.

I said this before but you’d seriously much rather your city be invaded by pirates or some terror cell than by DHS. All those groups are equally lawless but at least you can defend yourself against pirates and it’s not a give local law enforcement would aid them.

As a piece of art, it felt like true passion was poured into exemplifying a set of concepts in every way allowed by audio-video tale. I loved the all the work on the sets, props, and puppets. It was a much needed, very refreshing taste of young love for ones work. As a movie for watching for fun, 🤷‍♀️

for as long as i've been alive, republicans have ran the same playbook: a few weeks before voting begins, they roll out completely fabricated smear campaigns. these things are always coordinated, so the talking points take over the news. the party is never electorally punished for their dishonesty.

Do I think Trump is a Nazi? No. His animal brain doesn’t permit him to claim anything so specific. But his governing instincts are clearly fascist and his electoral success has culled actual Nazis out from society’s wretched little crevices and into the open.

The way these people spit jargon in circles of unsupported claims contrasts well with the plain idiocy of their insults. It makes it clear which side is a haphazard weave of spittle and trash trying to place at the rug making competition, and which side is genuine to their thoughts and feelings.

This thing has made me go do a lot of reading tonight, and the Wikipedia page about the last public execution in the United States is well-written. It was Rainey Bethea, a Black man hanged in front of a crowd of 20,000 in 1936, a spectacle which embarrassed Kentucky enough that they ended hangings.
Hanna placed the noose around Bethea's neck, adjusted it, and then signaled to Hash to pull the trigger. Instead, Hash, who was drunk, did nothing. Hanna shouted at Hash, "Do it!" A deputy then leaned onto the trigger, which sprang the trap door. citation needed! Bethea fell 8 feet (2.4 m), and his neck was instantly broken.
Afterward, two doctors confirmed he was dead.
His body was taken to Andrew & Wheatley
Funeral Home. Icitation needed! He wanted his body to be sent to his sister in South Carolina so that she could arrange for him to be interred next to his father, but against these wishes, he was buried in a pauper's grave at Owensboro Cemetery (also known as City Cemetery and
"Potter's Field") in Owensboro. 14]It was estimated that a crowd of about 20,000 people gathered to watch the execution.!9! One man, 36-year-old Leonard A. Peters, was killed in a car accident while driving to Owensboro to witness the hanging. Three others, including his wife, were injured. 15. Afterwards, Hanna complained that Hash should not have been allowed to perform the execution in his drunken
condition. Hanna further said it was the worst display he experienced in the 70 hangings he had supervised. citation needed]
The spot where the scaffold stood
(approximately 37.775248° -87.116462°) is now part of a drop-off/pick-up lane in front of the Owensboro Convention Center. citation needed]へ
End of public executions in
Kentucky
As the Kentucky General Assembly had been meeting in its biennial sessions at the time, the media circus surrounding the Bethea execution embarrassed members of the Kentucky
legislature. In spite of the humiliation, they could not amend laws regarding executions until the next session in 1938. However, the trial judges in two separate Kentucky rape cases ordered that the hangings of John "Pete" Montjoy and Harold Van Venison be conducted privately. Montjoy, age 23, was privately hanged in Covington on December 17, 1937.On January 17, 1938, William R. Attkisson of the Kentucky State Senate's 38th District (representing Louisville), introduced Senate Bill 69, repealing the requirement in Section 1137 that executions for convicted rapists be conducted by hanging in the county seat where they raped their victims. The bill was promoted in the Kentucky House of Representatives by Representative Charles W. Anderson Jr., one of the attorneys who assisted Bethea in his post-conviction relief motions.
After both houses approved the bill, Governor Chandler signed it into law on March 12, 1938; it became effective on May 30 of that year.
Chandler later expressed regret at having approved the repeal, claiming, "Our streets are no longer safe." The last person ever legally hanged in Kentucky was Harold Van Venison, a
33-year-old African-American singer, who was privately executed in Covington on June 3, 1938.
