There's a few imitation devices out there, and a bit of a second market in refurbished or modded classics, so it should seem like a no-brainer for them to capitalise on the nostalgia/renewed interest!

Yeah exactly, the iPod was a great new thing that worked well with the old things. You could have both!

Still thinking of taking part in this years #Septembit, even if other work means that september will be over before I can even sketch any thumbnails for it. Just got that pixel art itch!

A4 I send in tubes, anything smaller Ive got reinforced cardboard envelopes for. I'd probably just go with what was most cost effective, as both seem to work out fine in my experience!

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

Now it's out, it's nice to be able to share this cover art I did for Phytophonics new release. Enjoyed complimenting the retro sound with some appropriately vintage visuals

Cover design for Phytophonics single "turning gold" featuring Gaurav Balli, in a retro 1960s style

A close up of some of the fun textural and typographic details

Fun bike-based garden centre adventures today.

A black bicycle with panniers and a front basket, leant against a fence in front of a small lake and fields

The same black bicycle with a host of potted plants in a crate on the front rack

Two colour illustration of Barad Dûr, with Sauron's eye at the top. surrounded with the ring inscription in elvish. the sky is red with sparks and ash floating in the air, the tower is above a fiery chasm. The front doors are glowing red with silhouettes of chains and armouries. A cloud of ash conceals the horizon. This will be a banner and riso print first. Digital prints coming later this year.

Illustration of a paperback copy of Frank Herbert's Dune. It's a 3 colour riso setup using teal, red and yellow overlapping. The title is in white with D and E mirrored and the lowercase u and n flipped. Center image is a big worm with a big blue hallucinating eye at the centre of its mouth with some rocks with Fremen Holding flags and knives in the foreground. it is particularly difficult to draw Shai Hulud without it's mouth looking like a giant butt-hole.

Digital illustration of a The Lord OF The Rings cover. A Nazgûl sits astride its horse between 2 red trees that make a circle. Int he background is Weathertop, the Misty Mountains and Orodruin. Overlapping risk colours - red, teal and yellow. Some mushrooms in the foreground.

Illustration of a cover for THE HOBBIT. View from inside the halls of the woodland elves. A ramp is dropping some barrels. The trees make a circle. In the trees are some elves and spiders. Inside the circle from the bottom is a river flowing through forest. Barrels in the river. The river joins a lake with a floating town, above it the Lonely Mountain, with its reflection/shadow over the town.
