I played 4 sequences of Control Resonant in 5 hours that would individually be my favorite thing in a video games in any given year.

The Control Resonant level with the...light-shadows?...goddamn, this game just goes.

Been sick all weekend, which means uuuuuh...20 hours of Control Resonant, a very good video game.

Did not realize this was a documentary, thought whoever they had playing Holmes was doing a phenomenal, unsettling job before it dawned on me...

Two bands I've been listening to for like 20 years. Incredible that Yusuke Kobayashi linked up with Nakano to re-ignite BBS after Kawashima's passing and keeping their music alive. K-k-k-k-k-kick it o-o-o-o-o-out youtu.be/oNJw0TE4oOY?...

Now that it has an anime coming, I finally got a friend to read Go With The Wind, North By Northwest. Great to have someone to talk about it with, by which I mean throwing our hands up and miming awe at each other.

Marathon is one of the few games I can think of where I enjoy getting to talk with randos. People are by and large friendly and willing to chat about some nonsense. I've had a lot of fun interactions in contrast to the tense, horrifying vibes of the game itself.

Re-read Tower Dungeon before starting volume 5. Every time I finish a chapter I'm just throwing my hands up cackling about how good this series is. Nihei just taking everything he's learned over decades of making manga and showing off what it means to be a master of the craft. It's ridiculous.

Discord chat with the fireteam, they're trying to think of the best Destiny weapon name, had to give them the answer: "Alone As A God", the sniper from Leviathan. Nevermind Destiny, possibly the coolest weapon name in any game? What even competes?

Feeling even stronger about my Kagurabachi to Gundam comparison after today's chapter. Particularly the Kamunabi (Soga) as the Federation and Rokuhiro as Tem Ray.

A lot of feelings about Destiny 2 coming to a close. A game and a story I was invested in for nearly a 3rd of my life. A playground, a community, sometimes a home. Through which I met some close friends, through which I had some of the best nights of my life.

Destiny 2 screenshot of the Timelost Vault. A shimmering white and silver space in a white void, a circle of stone stairs descends to a white plain. At its center is the player character's tomb, out of time.

Fucking BANGER. Sunrise can still do it. I really enjoyed Hathaway, but Circe is head and shoulders above it. The last 20 minutes are incredible Gundam.

Went out to scoop some manga and wow the Witch Hat Atelier anime has moved some volumes. For a series that has been stocked pretty well for years, it was all but cleared out in both stores I went to.

Every Marathon match on Perimeter now has a trio of purple shields and snipers camping on top of Overflow. Getting real tired of it.

How I’ve Been Pronouncing It (Feat. Foghorn Leghorn, my… roommate?)

Comic. I’m at my desk, leaning over to the doorway, saying “Hey! Foghorn! Foghorn Leghorn! Get in here!”
Foghorn Leghorn is walking past the doorway, “Boy, I tell ya, I tell ya, not so loud, boy. What, I say, I say, what d’ya want?”
Next panel, I’m gesturing to my computer. “How do I find that really good manga you recommended? It’s an anime now? I keep getting Halloween costumes.” Foghorn leans over my chair, “well, boy, I say, I say, you ain’t typin the entire title.”
Last panel, I turn around- “you said ‘witch hat.’ Foghorn gets in my face- “open your ears, boy!! ‘Witch Hat Atelier, I tell ya! I tell ya ‘Atelier,’ I tell ya’”

Kagurabachi getting here was inevitable. I think Hokazono will jump forward, but I'd love a brief arc of Chihiro smithing as he heals and comes to terms with...all of that.

The long feint of this week's Dogsred chapter only to reveal it with this panel was gold. The energy going into the page turn was in the stratosphere.

Dogsred Ch 62 panel. Interspersed with flashbacks of Koro teaching him how to handle a hockey faceoff, the reader is repeatedly shown Kengo failing in faceoffs and his resolve weakening. This panel is the last part of the flashback revealed. Koro says to Kengo: "The first few times, you have to concentrate on watching the refs' habits when they drop the puck. So it's all right if you lose the faceoff."

RIP Otr of the Flame. Kawaguchi comes up with great premises, and his design and artwork are top tier, the follow-through just isn't there after 10-20 chapters. He has a hit in him, though, I know it.
