Something about setting the atmosphere Early by preparing the Tarokka reading session on a rainy day

Two Tarokka cards held in my hand. The card in the front is the Darklord card (Strahd variant) and behind it is the Bloodied card. A park with a pond on a rainy day can be seen in the background.

I'm cautiously excited for whatever this Lamordia tease is, but I certainly learned my lesson from the Horrors Within release to know to keep my expectations low. It does seem like they're finally pumping some horror into the veins of this reanimated corpse though so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Romance subplots take a lot more open communication, respect, and empathy than most people realize in order to ensure they don't become dangerous above table.

Storytelling is ancient, and there are so many storytelling traditions that we can use techniques from to be better players and performers. Improv and theatre are not the end all be all for ttrpg storytelling.

Since I run so many campaigns with players joining multiple games now, I like to think of it like it's my Curse of Strahd multiverse. Yeah X is true in EoB campaign, however X does not exist in BotS campaign, etc etc. Except the Schlorpening™️. That comes for us all sooner later. That is constant.

I'm so tired of feeling like I show up honestly as myself just for someone I thought saw me to show me consistently that they fundamentally misunderstand and/or misread who I am. I wish I could thrive off the constant Being Unknown like I did when I was younger. But I just want connection.

PSA: You should order a trans person in your life a pizza this week, apropos of nothing. Just order them a pizza and say "Hey, I'm in your corner." (Studies show that doing so makes you 47% more attractive, btw.)

It is so mentally corrosive to try to ascertain, every day, whether the images I am seeing or the texts I am getting or the phone calls I am receiving are real - produced by a human who is trying to communicate something with me, even indirectly. It makes me feel insane and paranoid all the time

Like, you know there's an internal refugee crisis facing the US with trans people fleeing their home states, right? Can you understand why trans people might be more than a little on edge, stressed, angry because of the way we're treated? Perhaps extend a little understanding and empathy.

The beauty of playing ttrpgs with queer people is that you never know which NPCs are experiencing gender issues until they're the enemy of a very stressful combat for your party.
