Make the company publish its detailed plans for sewer upgrades. We have the right to know how our money will be spent. When the plans are in public they can be assessed by independent experts. www.londonwaterkeeper.org.uk/take-action-1 1/3 111

The Water Is Wide @thewateriswide.net · 18/11/2025My local wetlands - Walthamstow - is similar in that it’s free but without the birder permit (issued by lottery) you can’t access a lot of it. So you think WWT do these practices to make it more like a zoo so people visit and pay? Can you go there and avoid those aspects? 110
The Water Is Wide @thewateriswide.net · 18/11/2025I’d like to visit WWT in Barnes - especially as there’s glossy ibis there at the moment which I’d love to try and see. But I’m sad they do pinioning and also have captive animals. The entrance price is almost £20 which I’d be happy to pay, but I don’t want to support cruel practices. Any thoughts? 120

The Water Is Wide @thewateriswide.net · 19/10/2025These are absolutely brilliant! Do you mind me asking what your setup is? I’ve become obsessed with trying to get a good kingfisher photo 😂 I even hired a longer lens. But I still didn’t manage to get detail like you’ve got! I need to get closer, or even longer lens! The Water Is Wide @thewateriswide.net · 17/10/2025Yeah I regularly go to check the sewer outfall and usually one flies out of there. It’s so bitter-sweet to see kingfishers there. Often little egrets and herons too. And recently a grey wagtail. It became a noisy hangout in the summer for a while and they disappeared. But they’re back now. 010
The Water Is Wide @thewateriswide.net · 16/10/2025Yes it was in the Olympic Park - in Henniker’s Ditch/Channelsea River - where the sewer outflow is 😞 I often see them there. 110
The Water Is Wide @thewateriswide.net · 16/10/2025Absolutely beautiful!!!! I got some more photos the other day. Couldn’t get close so had to crop in so much I lost all the detail 🙈 need a longer lens. 110
