1/5 an #infrared walk I took my #fullspectrum 720nm Sony A7ii on a walk from Enfield Lock to Waltham Abbey. This is Turkey Brook on a stretch of the #LondonLoop. #Konica24mmf28 lens. #photography #ir #blackandwhite #landscape
This is a striking black-and-white photograph of a serene pathway lined with trees. The path is paved with stone slabs and is bordered by a metal fence on the left side. A small stream runs parallel to the path on the right, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. The trees form a canopy overhead, creating a tunnel-like effect with their branches and blossoms. The image has a dreamy, almost ethereal quality due to the monochrome palette and the soft light filtering through the trees.

Back out on the @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social today, a gorgeous ramble from Hayes & Harlington to Uxbridge mostly along the Grand Union Canal. I was expecting to be enjoying some autumnal walks by now, not sweating through summer walks! #LondonLoop

Great to be out today with the artist, Save The World, Kingston Ramblers and other volunteers cleaning and repairing the murals under the railway bridge at Malden Manor on Section 8 of the #LondonLoop - they’re such an asset to this section of the route and we love them!

And here's my write up on Section 10 of @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social, it's an unremarkable section with a couple of highlights but it is making me realise just how much I miss the hustle and bustle of the city. nikmortimer.substack.com/p/london-loo...? #LondonLoop

Chose a rainy day to tackle Section 10 of the @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social. Not much too this section really, mostly escaping the clutches of Heathrow Airport via the Grand Union Canal. Did enjoy getting to see the Speedbird logo at Hatton Cross though, made my inner aviation nerd happy. #LondonLoop

One of our volunteers, award-winning litter picker Neil Maitland-Walker, has been out with Staines Ramblers on Section 19 of the #LondonLoop, picking up litter - a great example of the work our volunteers do to keep our walking routes clean and tidy, and a great reminder to us all to leave no trace.

Our volunteers have erected a new post on the #LondonLoop near Banstead station (with golf club permission) where the route leaves the course and it wasn’t previously clear where to go. They also reinstated another post and did clearance work, mainly on the station link. Huge thanks to them all!

Another Sunday well spent on @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social - High Barnet to Enfield Lock is (mostly) a lovely walk through forest and fields, with the most northerly spot of the Loop ticked off at the Turkey Brook ponds.

I thought it'd be worthwhile revisiting what I'd written so far on my #LondonLoop (@ldnloop-capring.bsky.social) series to check it made sense. I'm chuffed with what I've written so far, each post tells a story and there's a satisfying arc starting to form. nikmortimer.substack.com/t/london-loop

A 10 mile hike in 30c heat wasn’t my best idea but that’s Section 9 of the @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social completed. A gloriously sweaty ramble from Kingston to Hatton. As an aviation nerd getting to walk under the Heathrow flight path was an absolute treat. @gojauntly.bsky.social #LondonLoop.

The weather effected my feelings of Section 6 of the @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social but the beauty of long form writing means I get to articulate myself properly! My least favourite section so far, one of those sections that's clearly a bridge to get you from A to B: open.substack.com/pub/nikmorti...

Woefully underprepared for how wet and windy it was going to be today but I’m behind my schedule on the the @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social so wanted to get out regardless and tick off Section 6. Not as exciting as previous sections but some beautiful countryside to ramble through.

Perfect day for the monthly litter picking organised by Friends of the Welsh Harp. All along the reservoir, a SSSI, and on the Capital Ring. @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social
A large wooden hut with an umbrella-shaded picnic table. Tea and biscuits. Volunteers relax, and swap stories after picking up litter around the area.A blue litter bin with green litter bags piled up against it. A fraction of the litter collected.

Chislehurst to Orpington #SlowWays Chiorp3 a lovely walk through ancient woodland. Follows the #LondonLoop for a while. Memorial to William Willett, builder & BST advocate, who gave Petts Wood to the nation.
Wide earthen path winds between bright green trees, it's Spring and sunny. Small wooden post in foreground with London LOOP sign on it.

It's located in Petts Wood which he brought for the public, now owned by the National Trust. An open slightly raised path flanked by bracken. On either side heather is growing, planted for biodiversity. Heather, once common in the South East of England has become rare.Long tarmac path dissappears downhill between fences. Jack's Lake yesterday. The head of Pymme's Brook, which you can follow down to Tottenham Hale where it joins the Lea. London LOOP also passes here, a favourite stretch of mine between Barnet Hadley and Cockfosters Trent Park #photography #londonloop #jackslake #flags
Looking up Jack's Lake from the broad, barrier end. In the foreground yellow iris nestle with other lake-side vegetation. On the right bank are fishing platforms and someone is admiring the view. The sky reflects in the lake.

A woodland clearing in winter light, with gnarled, moss-covered trees arching overhead, their bare branches casting long dramatic shadows across a leaf-strewn ground. A wooden park bench sits quietly in the middle distance beneath the trees, bathed in low golden sunlight that highlights the green moss on the bark. The scene has a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere typical of a temperate woodland on a clear winter's day
