I finally (begrudgingly) enabled Gemini on my phone after Google ripped out the classic Assistant, and wow, it's so much worse. My Google Home speakers *in the other room* that still use Assistant are responding before my phone can. I can't stand how terrible this supposed "upgrade" is.

I've seen a lot of programmers really disrespect themselves thinking that genAI is "fine" when it comes to coding or w/e because it's not "art" Programming is an art. It requires creativity. And you're literally programming graphics, it's visual art. It's just art. It counts. AI coding is AI "art"

I've wanted a metallic/chrome look to my (eventual) custom Mandalorian cosplay, and this video by @tested.com shows the model builders for the Razor Crest using metal duct tape (for HVAC) instead of a chrome paint. I'm now wondering how effective it would be for armor instead graphite and polishing

I'm not super excited about blurry 50 fps gaming where it takes your $3000 gpu several frames to converge light into a discernible picture. I love how great games got to look but the tradeoffs we took aren't very good imo We need nice baked GI again that runs on a laptop you found behind a dumpster

I did development work for my university using the og Hololens and the FOV on that was painfully small (30°), but since it was AR it didn't restrict your actual view. The Meta VR Glasses using camera passthrough with a FOV of 70° is going to be *rough*

My Logitech G910 is randomly doubling inputs after 10 years of use, so I think it's finally time for a replacement ;-; I want a full size keyboard with numpad, but I rarely used the macro key features. Media buttons + volume are nice, but aren't required. Are there any go-to brands and/or models?
