I feel like I want to start a fan blog dedicated to the collections team at @multcolib.bsky.social. These beautiful monsters are stocking a collection of early Vito Acconci works in my small neighborhood branch!

Kill your inner cop final boss: this person trying to involve the police about someone taking books from their little free library.
Screencap from IG of a blue plastic little free library with a handwritten note taped inside facing through the window, which reads “ Dear Book Thief, You are on camera and your theft has been reported to Salem PD.” We can see a bit of the person taking the photo reflected in that same window.

@joshthelibromancer.bsky.social is great at this as ever (and has amazing taste) but unfortunately all I can see is the ample and hard-won number of face-outs on each shelf with big ol knows-how-high-turn-bookstores-work heart eyes.

They won’t let you take jacket photos that prominently feature your nipples inside AND outside of the fold anymore, because of the end of woke.
Banged up Linda Ronstadt album—“Hasten Down the Wind”—sitting on a tabletop. Cover art is a photo of ronstadt looking like a damn baby in a shoulder less sleeveless white dress. She’s looking to one side and the light on her is strong and single direction such that all little bumps are casting a shadow, including, yeah, nipples.
Inside fold of the same album. Photo of ronstadt in profile with a sun hat on her back and hands raised doing I dunno what. Don’t worry, there’s a nip outline.

the testimony about how we need public money to go into private hands so then the private sector can give to philanthropic organizations / non-profits was actually the clearest explanation of the rot of neoliberalism I've ever heard. The government should just fund public services & employ people.

OPB is hiring an enforcer, if siding with power at the expense of workers is your thing.
Screenshot of a LinkedIn post from OPB dated to 23 hours ago.
Text:
OPB is seeking an experienced labor relations professional to join the People & Culture Team. OPB takes bargaining with its two labor unions as seriously as it takes employee experience and understands that the two are intertwined. The ideal candidate for this role is as knowledgeable as they are relationship-driven, especially when it comes to contract negotiations and management. The collaborative nature of this role is absolutely critical. Strong candidates will have substantial experience in bargaining, and will lead with the mission-driven mindset that all teams at OPB keep central to their work.

Last night Portland closed off most of the main public bridge where people watch fireworks so the local Blues Festival could put an invite-only thousand dollar a head outdoor dinner there. Continually surprising how a town this small can be so fully locked down by the interests of the donor class.
a red white and blue spray of fireworks in the far distance, being watched by people in 'elevated barbecue' clothing standing beside tables with white tablecloths, all seen through a chainlink fence keeping the hoi polloi at least thirty feet back.
