To be clear, Mr. Attorney General, the 1st Cir struck down your policy after full adversary briefing on 9/18. Rather than seek clarification on whether it took effect immediately, you tried to fly still more people to 3d countries so it would be too late for them. On 9/23 it found out & stopped you.
Without even allowing the government a chance to respond, and in the dark of night, a federal appeals court blocked us from conducting all third-country removals of illegal aliens, an entirely legal and invaluable tool to stem the tide of illegal immigration. We will immediately seek relief from the Supreme Court, which previously granted a stay in this very same case.

This is a very cute clip, but I love it for reasons that the episode doesn't really explore: *All networked technology comes down to chat* Talking to each other is either the foundation of all new networked technology or becomes inexorably tied up with it-- since the early days of the Internet 1/

The theme of Trump’s second term is his using the power of the presidency as though it’s his own. That manifests in tantrums booting media outlets from the White House. More harmfully, it also manifests in blocking federal funding to states that didn’t vote for him. www.ctinsider.com/columnist/ar...

I know I am not the median voter. But when I watch Trump performances like the one we just endured in North Carolina, I can't escape the feeling that our problems go much deeper than "affordability" and we're whistling past the graveyard if we reduce our politics to that issue.

This may seem like a meaningless distinction, but I think there is a danger in viewing US failure in the Persian Gulf and assuming the United States has become weaker, when - to engage in an analogy - what has actually happened is that Trump damaged the 'leverage' of American power.

Though of course part of our takeaway here should be 'fascists do insane, destructive things' and think accordingly about our politics and our foreign policy. But that was less obvious in the 1930s because WWII hadn't happened yet.

The errors here are all strategic and there are two of them: First, someone (Caine, it's Caine) needed to tell Trump, "if you order us to do this, we will try it, max effort, but it is impossible and we will fail to achieve it." He needed to say that *bluntly* and given the reporting, he did not.
