Managed to smack a painting out. This is Clive, a friend and neighbour of my wife and me - he is a ex-pro golfer who got very ill a few years back and has problems now - he also has lovely greyhound called 'George' who he saved from an awful life. #art #artist #portrait #painting #portraitpainting

I created the box cover. I had the DVD but for some reason no box or cover - I also own the BluRay, Glory is one of my most favourite films. I created this from one of my paintings and put all the details on the back too -I'm going to give it to friend of mine. He doesn't know either....

🎥Hailee Steinfeld as Maddy Ross. Watch True Grit (2010) it is superb - then if you have never read or realised it is a book, read it - straight away, True Grit - Charles Portis (1968) - then you won't get annoying posts from me with my paintings on them.... #art #film #paintings #portrait #TrueGrit

Happy Birthday Den; 85 today. Went to Canada from the UK, and was actually able to start his own business; wouldn't happened here; and able to afford to learn to fly real planes rather than model ones! Also we went to some rather lovely areas of Canada to see my wife's brother-in-law and sister 😍

🎥Any of my film buddies interested? After sorting out all my DVD/Blu Ray collections, when I finished I found I had a DVD of Glory left on it's own, I had spare DVD boxes - I already reboxed the BluRay version, so I made my own DVD box cover; here it is, my painting by the way #FilmSky #Glory #art

Happy birthday to my sister Josephine, turned up at our house one day when I was little boy, I didn't know she lived in Ireland and was my lovely older sister - what a wonderful gift for the rest of my life ❤️

Shut my online Spreadshirt Shop where you could buy framed posters of my paintings; my designs on tee-shirts, hats, mugs & other stuff. Despite my promoting etc. I got 2 visitors in a month. I wish I was famous for something else then I'd get thousands of visits/purchases - but alas...all gone.

I know I'm boring. I've had another soul destroying slump where I just couldn't paint - I did guide drawings - then this afternoon I painted this in about an hour! It is an old school friend from about 30 years ago #ArtSky #art #painting #portrait #portraitpainting #artist #artist-yes-I-am

1/2 @mostlyhockey.bsky.social - here is Friday’s and tonight’s NIHL challenge match results I have always agreed 'Offensive Hockey wins games' - 'Defensive Hockey wins leagues' - if this is a sign the NIHL National is going to be crap this season! ukihscorerecords.blogspot.com/2026/09/2026...

On my painting website there is a photo of every painting I have ever done that had one taken- it means I have been honest and there are some really poor paintings on it. I don't like them; don't want people to see them. Recently no vistiors #art #artist #paintings paintings-by-david.blogspot.com

Paintings by David

A set of paintings and art created by David Strover from the 1980s to the current day. Some are good paintings, some awful paintings, you decide.

Well my fans - I have had a huge slump in painting again - that bit where your mind stops dead and says 'No painting for you ugly head'. Then today I decided to paint this on A4 and finished it.....😶 It is the house my wife and I lived in Swindon for over 20 years! #art #landscapes #painting #artist

Here's something similar to what I have created for well over a decade - usually in a lot more detail than this but nowadays it is AI slop or photos of teams with a score underneath - so I did this one for my fans on here... #icehockey #designwork #NoAI #hockey #NIHL #ukicehockey #icehockeygraphics

Some tee-shirt designs I made; using my eyes, hands, brain & Xara Designer software. They are films I like and I wear them; I don't sell them or make money from them because I don't want to go to prison. Anyone want to see any more? Let me know in the comments #films #movies #designwork #mydesigns

Bertie; came up to my wife/me outside The Abbey, Romsey on the benches, I had said I was going over to his family & ask if I could take a photo for a painting, but he came over; his owner said I could and gave us her contact details. #painting #art #dogportrait #artist #paint #morecrapfromthatbloke

National Dog Day apparently. So here are some of my dog paintings, Ralph, the latest, the poor old late Hugo for my friend and his family, Jake who was a family dog but we don't see him anymore and a not very good painting I admit of Suzie who my mum and dad adopted and she lived to 24!! #art #dogs

Worse than the Film Cricket collapse and lack of interest - I am once again suffering from a 'can't or won't paint' syndrome. I hate it, it is like being punished by myself. I hope the painting is coming back.

Just to override Chris' birthday her is my latest finished painting. Ralph. He is loveliest, most loving dog I have known in a long while. He wants you to love him and he gives love back. He is my nephew's partner's sister's dog and it is her birthday soon... #art #portrait #dog #painting #StrovArt

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to @jameschristopher.bsky.social He has stuck by me for years, despite my personality, art and occasional disagreements. He deserves the greatest day and life. Also as long as stays on my side and is nice I promise not to paint anymore pictures of him...my art is good for something.

Well I painted these - I love the film, I hate AI, I keep seeing clever sods on TV etc. saying 'You can't deny advancing, would all these people hate cars and electricity?' - well they not as clever as they think they are -it's not new technology, it was/is the abandoning people that upset them/us.

David📎 @thestrovinator.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

Well this I believe is my next project - the nephew's family dog, Ralph, such a softy, so loving and wanting loving that he has to be painted. The guide drawing. My brain tells me paint this and that is how it works- honestly it clicks that way. #art #painting #animalportraits #ralphthedog #StrovArt

Here you go, Church Street - not great I know but I painted and kept at it in this heat. It is the view from a bench outside the council offices that my wife and I sometimes sit on and eat sandwiches from Waitrose/Co op. Romantic? Yes I am! I'm painting though - so that's good #art #painting #artist

Suzanne Wokoma - I painted this because I loved her with @caratheobold.bsky.social in Crazyhead. I have the series on disc. I had to paint her [2024]. I did this one because most photos of her she is smiling/looking lovely. I also painted Cara but unfortunately it was crap🤣 #art #portrait #artist

He is a real cat who came and met us as he strolled through a car park - it was like he was a parking attendant, when we greeted him he came over and gave an A+ 'loving display'! The heat and stress has given me creative problems. I know it's not great but I did paint again! #art #painting #paint

1/2 I know I moan about the lack of interest in my art some of which I actually think is okay but later on I will post my 'cat' painting. It is crap. I am seriously thinking of throwing it way. I'm pressing it flat at the moment so can't post it. This one you can actually take the piss out of me!

Four Weeks - by David Strover - a portrait of fear, camaraderie, and bravery in a world where every dawn could be the last. I bought a copy to check the print - told @jameschristopher.bsky.social [personal conversation] that even though I wrote it - it is a f-king good story, and well written.
