TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 02/11/2025Experiencing my first love rn and it's such a good feeling. It's really funny that the way I realised I loved them for sure rather than thinking I might was them pressing our sandwiches together and saying "they're kissing" though. 000

TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 16/10/2025I took a break from my webgame because I've not really had much time, or frankly desire, to update it. Made a websites for funsies recently, and it links to the webgame. Maybe this'll force me to pay attention to it, knowing some people may actually like...see the webgame. IDK. TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 29/09/2025I've been dating someone recently and things are going really well. The only downside is the algorithms have picked up on this and the shitpost : cute things ratio is *FUCKED* 000
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 12/09/2025Savage Beastfly can suck my entire ass. On a related note, Silksong automatically equipping new crests is hilarious because doing the jumping sections after getting used to diagonal pogo and then having your diagonal jump change into an spinning arc is one of the funniest 'fuck yous'. 030
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 08/09/2025This is a random stream of conciousness, but I fucking love this game called "Night in the Woods" and regularly look at fanart for it; it's super weird to me though because pretty much every artist that does a "human version" of Mae (who is stylised cat) make her really thin for some reason? 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 11/08/2025Emma Aibara makes cool stuff. "i can't go back" is a wonderful bit of music, really floaty ethereal feel to it despite having such a sick guitar riff and drums cutting through the quiet. 031
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 16/07/2025I reformatted the page, added a couple other test items, fixed the item names overflowing the boxes and added in the beginnings of the location system. Need to make some art or something for the locations down the line... Next step is location linkage (i.e you're here, you can go here). 120
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 15/07/2025I feel completely lost with "Gen Z stare" popping up. It's just not real, right? Generally when I see these "XYZ generation trend" things that go viral, I kinda get where it comes from - or at least I can just attribute it to older folk being grumpy as I will be in time. I'm just lost here. 000
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 10/07/2025Recently I decided to start making an incremental game just as a little hobby project, only spent a couple hours on it so far but it's good fun. I've only ever coded in C, specifically doing embedded systems design so working with JS is...interesting. 100

TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 06/03/2025Why is it that doing chores feels impossible when I want to do chores on purpose, but doing chores feels very easy when I'm doing them to keep my hands busy so I don't fidget while talking to someone phone :L they can't even see me, it's not like if I waggled my legs or span in my chair they'd know 010
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 04/03/2025I can't tell if the fact I'm excited to try out my new vacuum cleaner, despite knowing that the moment I actually do start cleaning I'll go straight back to hating it, is very childish; a symptom of undiagnosed ADHD or just what being an adult is. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 27/02/2025Finished 'The Flatshare' - very cute book, surprisingly funny too. Only real critique is that it's kinda difficult to get used to the style of dialogue where it's written like: Me: I say a thing Dave: that thing is like this thing Simon: haha what an interesting thing Me: yes, another thing 100

TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 24/02/2025Considering most of what I do here is yap about games I'm debating setting up a blogger or something to post some full-length reviews. Always feel like I want to be more verbose when I talk about a game and it feels awkward splitting my commentary over 2-3 posts even if I say little in them. 000
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 24/02/2025I'm starting to get genuinely confused by how many people are using LLM's for random shit like it's google, or summarising documents and whatnot. Even if I put aside my dislike for generative AI in concept alone, it's bewildering to me - it's wrong so often and can get you into serious trouble. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 22/02/2025Started playing Avowed. The discussion around this game has been quite confusing to me, I've seen so much high praise and a fair bit of people utterly slamming it - while that's probably just internet algorithms doing they're thing I have to say: It's okay. Like, that's it. It's fine. 6.5/10. 110
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 20/02/2025Picked up Flowers for Algernon to read for my book club, thumbed through it at lunch today and then proceeded to read essentially the entire thing at home. Good god this book is fucking GRIPPING. I consider myself somewhat stoic, yet I'm currently ugly crying and struggling on the last 20 pages. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 20/02/2025Y'know I kinda want a game that's like Death Stranding, with ladders, rope climbing and stuff but it's like medieval fantasy. that way you don't get any fuck-ass vehicles and the enemy is just the environment and some wolves or gobbos or something. Maybe a dragon fucks up your routes for shiggles 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 20/02/2025Finished Grey Bees - t'was an okay book. Nothing about it particularly "hooked" me, but the characters were interesting and the bits of history, culture and bleak dips into how wars affect people were interesting enough and once the book picks up a bit towards the halfway point the pacing is decent. 110
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 13/02/2025Huh. IDK how I missed it but the Dev for citizen sleeper is just one person. I am baffled as to how they put out such quality work on their own. The gameplay loop for the games is so fine-tuned and it's deceptively simple considering how the abilities let you fuck with the dice. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 13/02/2025I played through Citizen Sleeper 2 in one sitting on a day off recently but it's hitting me that this game is like Outer Wilds in that the first playthrough is this really beautiful, poignant and fun experience and trying to recapture that hurts because you can never experience it properly again. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 13/02/2025Welp, I made one post about my genuine plight of spoon goblins and now my entire feed is coffee-related. Do I need to start rambling about like, yorkshire tea and video games to fix this or am I just in the caffeine zone forever now. 010
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 13/02/2025My office has a deranged spoon hoarding culture I was unaware of until today, was making a coffee and had to go on an Arthurian quest to find a clean spoon - everyone with a hot drink had the spoon in their mug. How do these spoon goblins even drink like that, surely it like pokes them in the face? 010
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 10/02/2025I'm about halfway through Grey Bees. It's an interesting book, not really sure if I *like* it or not though... It's a little slow, not too much happening, although you get these compelling little glimpses into to the horrors of the war unfolding around Sergeyich on occasion that keep me reading. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 06/02/2025My path of exile character is so fucking edgy and it's great. Then you rotate them, and find out that they're also serving cunt, which is honestly even better. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 28/01/2025Decided to give up on A Gentleman From Moscow, very much so not for me. I can kinda see why someone would like it if all they care about is prose, but good god it's dull and just has nothing of substance to offer in the 1st 1/4 and I can't be bothered to see if it ever gets better. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 23/01/2025So, I'm super addicted to Path of Exile 2 at the moment, but I've not actually got that much play time because I've spent like 3x my in-game time out of the game just planning builds. I uh...I might have a problem. 010
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Damn, these might be some of the coolest maps I've seen... 010
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 15/01/2025One of the things about AI that really bugs me is that people use it to help them with coding, somehow not knowing that the AI will usually get things right enough that at a first glance you can use it but when you think about it you need to redesign 90% of it anyway. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 13/01/2025Had a change of plan book-wise, and started #reading A Gentleman in Moscow as it's the first book for a book club that I've been invited to recently. It's...a painful read so far. Granted, I'm only 50 pages in so I can't really judge it too harshly. 110
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 11/01/2025Lil clip from the game I mentioned, frankly I'm pretty terrible at it...especially as I generally play KB+M and the game plays best on a controller which I need to get used to. I should probably start using boost and actually learning when/where to trick 'cos I waste so much time not boosting. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 11/01/2025I've been playing a bit of a cool indie game called Rooftops & Alleys recently, scratches that parkour itch that I've had ever since mirrors edge. There aren't really many games that do more 'grounded' feeling parkour over the incredibly fast and floaty style you get in movement shooters. 110
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Finished #reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I liked A Roadside Picnic a fair bit more than this book, although both were very good - felt like the ideas that were brought up by Do Androids Dream of Electric sheep were a bit less interesting, though the plot was a bit better. 100
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 03/01/2025Also currently reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" Next on the list is House of Leaves after that, so I might also ramble about those books once I've finished them so I can unload my jumbled thoughts on them. 010
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 03/01/2025Trying to get back into reading lately, and finally got around to reading 'A Roadside Picnic' by the Strugatskys. It puts across some interesting points like whether humans are insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe and the idea that if aliens visited us would they even care we're here. 110
TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 04/12/2024I put Video Killed the Radio Star on one day in march for a bit of a nostalgia trip. TheSlyBrit @theslybrit.bsky.social · 21/11/2024A friend got me to give HEALTH a listen. It's pretty good, sorta industrial-ish rock with electronic twinges. Couple slightly heavier songs in there, couple lighter sorta ethereal tracks too. DEATH MAGIC, Rat Wars and Vol.4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR bang, the disco remix albums are hit/miss for each song. 000
