Savage Beastfly can suck my entire ass. On a related note, Silksong automatically equipping new crests is hilarious because doing the jumping sections after getting used to diagonal pogo and then having your diagonal jump change into an spinning arc is one of the funniest 'fuck yous'.

I'm not neccesarily complaining, the art is still usually cool as hell and people can draw whatever they want, but it does strike me as odd; if you like the game you pick up from the dialogue she's got a bigger build and is self concious about it. Feels like a misrepresentation to make her thin.

Concept so far storywise is you're a space ship salvager, tearing apart wrecks for salvage to sell. When returning with your haul, the warp gate malfunctions yeeting you into uncharted space and forcing you to investigate an abandoned station to repair your 'lil junker.

After that, I'm gonna add in the early idle mechanics, which I think'll be collecting scraps of the defunct station to build bots to harvest stuff, build facilities, manufacture items etc etc. Once I have...well...any gameplay at all really, I'm gonna write the intro sequence properly.

I reformatted the page, added a couple other test items, fixed the item names overflowing the boxes and added in the beginnings of the location system. Need to make some art or something for the locations down the line... Next step is location linkage (i.e you're here, you can go here).

I feel completely lost with "Gen Z stare" popping up. It's just not real, right? Generally when I see these "XYZ generation trend" things that go viral, I kinda get where it comes from - or at least I can just attribute it to older folk being grumpy as I will be in time. I'm just lost here.

My main takeaways so far is that I suck ass at writing and JS is neat. Also I really need to learn how literally any of the higher level stuff works because being able to .Find() an array is black magic and the fact you can just whack any old type into one array terrifies me.

At the moment I'm just playing around and testing things, namely printing storyline/item pickup text to the log as well as an inventory/item usage system. Once I've got an idea of how to make barebones mechanics not suck complete ass I'll actually sit and design properly.

Recently I decided to start making an incremental game just as a little hobby project, only spent a couple hours on it so far but it's good fun. I've only ever coded in C, specifically doing embedded systems design so working with JS is...interesting.

It honestly depends on what you're doing and why. I don't use it, because it simply can't generate useable code for the microcontrollers I work on. If it's something well-known, well documented and talked about enough, there's enough scraped data to make boilerplate code you then tweak for use.

I largely like barbarian it because the MC is actually decently smart and the things he knows about the world because he's an 'evil spirit' generally aren't just "oh he knew this so he wins". My main critique is the romances are mid and he gets 'lucky' too often even if there are downsides to it.

I've kinda had the same opinion of tripleS, the romance arc was the only reason I picked it up to begin with. I'm loosely following it still tho. Release That Witch is BRILLIANT until the dreamland is introduced, then it's pretty shaky. I liked it but eeeeh, you could tell the author phoned it in.

Never bothered to check my screen time, apparently I avg 5.5hrs with most of it split half-half between messaging friends and youtube. Granted, I *am* terminally online, I just do it on a computer not my phone 😅

Leon's sections are written in short, cut off sentences that gradually expand matching the way he gradually opens up and Tiffy is written with rambling sentences and spontaneous thoughts; it characterises them really well both in and out of dialogue and literal thoughts. Fuck Jason tho, fr.

Found it sorta difficult to tell when someone was thinking something, saying something or when it was just standard 1st-person narrative. Did get used to it eventually, and then just appreciated the story though. I really like how Tiffy and Leon are written in the style they think/act.

Finished 'The Flatshare' - very cute book, surprisingly funny too. Only real critique is that it's kinda difficult to get used to the style of dialogue where it's written like: Me: I say a thing Dave: that thing is like this thing Simon: haha what an interesting thing Me: yes, another thing
