I'm not seeing a faux silk stalking seam running down the back of those gams, or had that fashion statement ended with VJ day?

Pikes Peak is somewhere behind the clouds enjoying rain and early season snow. We'll see what El Nino brings this year.
Broken rain clouds obscure the view of Pikes Peak from Colorado Springs.

Today's four random pieces of palaeoart: Heinrich Harder's Ichthyosaurus, Richard Orr's Tyrannosaurus, marsupials, and birds, Ashley Patch's Hibbertopterus, and Peter Zallinger's Dimetrodon!
Two slick-skinned ichthyosaurs with olive-coloured skin break the surface of the sea. One is fully airborne, while the other is half submerged.A group of white-furrred, opossum-like marsupials clamber about on a tree limb. Two birds, shown in silhouette, pass by a huge yellow moon. Below, the slumbering form of a Tyrannosaurus blends in with the cool, stony ground. A Hibbertopterus sits on the sea floor, barely distinguishable in the blurred blue waters. A Dimetrodon lifts up into a push-up posture, teeth bared in a savage snarl. Its sandy brown skin is marked by broad bands of greenish tones, matching the pebble-strewn ground beneath it.

Hadrosaurus foulkii, the first dinosaur discovered in North America and one whose holotype is housed at the currently-threatened Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. If the academy is shut down, this and thousands of other irreplaceable specimens will likely be lost. #SavetheAcademy #sciart
A colored-pencil drawing of the hadrosaurid dinosaur Hadrosaurus foulkii, in a walking pose at an angle away from the viewer and towards the left side of the page. Much of the body is a warm brown, separated by a darker squiggly line from the pinkish grey back. Its head is turned slightly towards the viewer, and a thin black tear marking extends down from its eye.

Pterosaurs: An Artistic History in Four Parts (Art by Joseph Smit, Zdenek Burian, John Sibbick, and @markwitton.bsky.social)
A mixed group of pterosaurs, all with slick, featureless skin and pointed, swooping wings. Some soar with outstretched limbs, others cling frog-like to a stony cliff, and others perch with their feet flat on the rock.A Pteranodon with a plump, bat-like torso and short, stumpy legs drops a mouthful of fish to a group of sprawled, leathery-skinned young which are strewn about the top of a stony seaside cliff. In the distance, two other giant pterosaurs can be seen soaring toward the sea below. Two huge ornithocheirid pterosaurs with rounded crests at the end of their snout soar over coastal waves, while a smaller, duller pterosaur with no crest feeds its well-developed youngster in a bird-like fashion. Two enormous azhdarchids with slender builds and erect, upright stances scavenge the carcass of a dead Triceratops beside a pond. One stands tall, while the other is mid-launch, carrying a strip of meat in its beak.

Humans. So fragile, so resilient . Had I been born a generation ago, the cancer would have claimed me by now. A generation from now, I’d have an mRNA vaccine and no worries. Here I am in the between time, cared for by amazing humans and all the technology we know how to throw at the problem.
I lie immobile waiting for radiation treatment for pancreatic cancer beneath a large machine that looks like it escaped from a science fiction movie.

Sauropods: An Artistic History in Four Parts (Art by Charles Knight, Bill Berry, John Gurche, and @tessasaurus.bsky.social)
A group of wriggly-necked, blunt-skulled Brontosaurus wade in a lake while one emerges on the shore, dragging its lengthy tail behind it. A Stegosaurus approaches the lake, dwarfed by the long-necked herbivores.A towering Brachiosaurus with a drooping tail hauls itself out of the water, moving in a wide-legged waddle as rivulets of water drip down its hide. An impossibly tall, earthy-brown Barosaurus with elephantine skin rears high in the air, threatening to crush an encroaching Allosaurus. A young Barosaurus hides behind its tree-trunk legs, crouching in fearful trepidation. A dense conifer forest and gorgeous cloudscape extend behind.A low view of a colossal rearing titanosaur. Its heaving bulk produces a cloud of dusty sand as it lifts upward, revealing the complex array of scales covering its underside and limbs. A little feathered theropod looks on, looking comically tiny beneath the great mass of the colossus before it.

Today's four random pieces of palaeoart: John Dawson's Edmontosaurus, Norman Nodell's Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus, Zdenek Burian's Chasmosaurus, and Luis Rey's Deinonychus and Nothronychus!
A rust-coloured Edmontosaurus wades through a swamp forest, surrounded by the trunks and knees of Taxodium trees. A hazy fog hangs between the trees, creating a humid, mysterious atmosphere.A pair of lumpy, wrinkly-skinned Triceratops with stony grey skin forage in a grassy meadow. The foreground individual crops grass with its beaky jaws, while the rear individual faces off with an erect-postured, muddy brown Tyrannosaurus.A pair of long-limbed ceratopsians with rugose, sandy scales stand in a desert landscape. Their tall, rectangular frills jut high above their backs, creating a striking visual. Behind, a sparse forest of coniferous trees and stony hills stretch into the distance.A lappet-faced Deinonychus leaps at a sparsely feathered, rough-bellied Nothronychus. The dromaeosaur spreads its taloned wings and gapes its jaws, perhaps a threat display or overzealous predatory lunge. The therizinosaur mirrors the spread-armed pose, prepared to swat or trample the little carnivore.

In the second panel we zoom in on the dragons face. He simply says “shiny”.
In the third panel we pan to the left and see that there is a crow standing next to the dragon on the treasure.
In the fourth panel we zoom in on the crows face. He says “hell yeah”.

Today's four random pieces of paleoart: @jedtaylorartist.bsky.social's Utahraptor, Tuomas Koivurinne's Parasaurolophus, William Stout's Psittacosaurus, and Édouard Riou's labyrinthodonts!
A pair of Utahraptor with extensive, earthy-toned feathery coats and intense aquiline eyes. Their heads are held in close proximity, nearly touching.A dark, subtly striped Parasaurolophus walks through a forest at sunset, its red-tinged crest and yellowish face contrasting against the dark tones on the rest of its body. Moss and lichen-covered trunks frame its great bulk as it turns toward the viewer.A baby Psittacosaurus nearly tumbles over backwards as a large butterfly with eyespotted wings flutters toward it.A mixed group of squat, frog-like amphibians with jaws resembling a mix of beartrap and crocodile amble over a sandy shore. A long-jawed individual looms over a stone in the middle distance as waves crash behind.

In the first panel we see Sarah, the protagonist, in front of her computer. She has a bored expression on her face.
In the second panel we zoom in on her face. She looks suddenly alert.
In the third panel we zoom in even closer on her face. Her eyes and mouth are wide open in intrigue.
In the fourth panel we zoom out and see Sarah in front of her computer again, but this time she is dressed in a frog costume, surrounded by frog toys, and has an "I heart frogs" poster behind her.

Today’s four random pieces of palaeoart: Karen Carr’s Apatosaurus, John Sibbick’s Albertosaurus, John Conway’s Hypsilophodon, and Richard Orr’s Allosaurus and Camptosaurus!
A colossal Apatosaurus with smooth, chestnut-brown skin strides towards a fern-covered riverbank. The stormy sky above casts the scene in a hot, hazy gloom. Two more sauropods can be seen passing in behind. An Albertosaurus with prominent, leathery scales rests with its belly against the ground, tail curled catlike alongside the body. A shaggy, brown-feathered Hypsilophodon with long eyelash filaments clutches a conifer cone during a downpour. Its fluffy hide is completely saturated with water. A tangle of lichen-covered branches form a backdrop.A red Allosaurus with blue stripes clutches a greenish Camptosaurus in its jaws, lifting it off the ground as it flails defiantly. The theropod’s body is covered in tiny scales, while the ornithopod has a smoother hide with a crenulated ridge down its back.

Soon it's gonna rain, I can see it Soon it's gonna rain, I can tell Soon it's gonna rain, what are we gonna do? Lyrics by Tom Jones
Rain clouds gather over Pikes Peak.

Hear how the wind begins to whisper
See how the leaves go streaming by
Smell how the velvet rain is falling
Out where the fields are warm and dry
Now is the time to run inside and stay
Now is the time to find a hideaway
Where we can play
Soon it's gonna rain, I can see it
Soon it's gonna rain, I can tell
Soon it's gonna rain, what are we gonna do?

Today’s four random pieces of palaeoart: Dave Marrs’ Dilophosaurus, Neave Parker’s Triceratops, @joschuaknuppe.bsky.social’s Lotosaurus, and Kenyon Shannon’s Tyrannosaurus!
A grey, dull-coloured Dilophosaurus with a red-fringed head crest walks through a lush forest, backed by a dense array of ferns and cycads.A slick-skinned Triceratops with a strongly downturned, bell-curve spine forages on grassy foliage. Its frill and back have crenulated edges, creating a distinct profile from front or side.A brown, countershaded Lotosaurus rests beneath the leafy fronds of various plants. Its beaky snout and eagle-brows give it a birdy look, contrasted against the more crocodile-like limbs and sailed body.A towering Tyrannosaurus with massive, muscle-bound legs strides into viewer. Its slender, almost weedy body contrasts with its hugely overdeveloped legs. Its fang-lined jaws are angled down, as if it has taken notice of some morsel on the ground before it.
