Watercolour painting of a country scene in summer to ward off those winter blues. #art #watercolour #painting #summer

A stile and some red poppies. A picture I painted from a Terry Harrison watercolour teaching book. It conjures up a lovely summers day in the country.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today. This could be you.

Distraught woman says ICE killed her wife in video after deadly Minneapolis shooting
"They killed my wife," the distraught woman says, adding, "They shot her in the head."

"They killed my wife. I don't know what to do," the woman says through sobs in the footage, with a damaged SUV visible in the distance behind her. "We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head," the woman cries.
"We have a six-year-old at school," she says, almost unable to breathe, as a chaotic scene in which federal officers prevented at least one doctor who was on the scene from assisting the shot victim unfolds. "We're new here," the distraught woman says in despair.

I love spending time with Scarlet Macaws. They're such entertaining, funny birds. They form very tight pair bonds; you never see a single macaw fly over, you always see two. Before bedtime, they perch next to each other and preen one another. #CostaRica #osapeninsula #birds #macaws

@alan678.bsky.social 's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #MorningLight this owl doesn't quite fit, but found it as i went looking. iso 12800, 891mm because i was too excited to check the lens was fully extended, manual focus on a tiny white dot in the forest #EastCoastKin #Photography #Olympus #Birds #Owl

this Great Horned Owl checked us out from the depth of a distant dark group of trees very early one morning - it was too dark for my camera to be able to autofocus on it, so I manually focused on its bright white breast which was a dot in the distance. ISO 12800 before i was comfortable using such high iso, and a large crop because i was too excited to remember to extend my lens out to its longest distance - so its 891mm instead of 1000mm. My Olympus camera did so much better than the folks with me using much more expensive Canon gear! woot! (ok,, the Sony folk probably did better, but i'm still proud of my relatively tiny, much less expensive Olympus)

Misty Sunday morning with soft pink hues. Have a wonderful day and think pink. #Stunday #photography #PhotographersOfBluesky #EastCoastKin

This photo presents a dreamy, softly diffused morning sky over a tree line. The dominant color is a warm, peachy orange that gradually fades higher into a gentle pink, filling the sky with a rosy glow. The light is very soft and scattered, with almost no harsh contrasts or defined rays.
The tops of the trees appear partially veiled in a light mist or haze, enhancing the ethereal quality of the image. The subtle illumination brings out delicate warm highlights in the foliage, especially evident in the yellow and orange leaves among the greens. The overall mood is tranquil and atmospheric, with the combination of hue and gentle light creating a peaceful, almost painterly effect.
