It was a small moment reflective of our entire state of body political. The lack of immediate consequences for Schmitt equally reflective of it, too. Our next government needs to right the wrongs of this administration and its patsies with the vigor, memory, and reanimated hands of the ancestors.

What stood out to me in Schmitt‘s attack on Smith was the contrast between the two men. Schmitt‘s bombast was an unending reckless logorrhea; unethical, thoughtless, unreflective, evil. Smith was unflappable. A sigillate momentarily shell-shocked by the degeneracy making fantastical accusations.

The last one I voted for came in with the Gingrich Revolution and then GTFO at the start of the tea party; back when third way people were trying to counter program as the coffee party. By 2001 there wasn’t a single one I‘d even entertain voting for.

Taking an active shooter training for my workplace (because ‘merica!). TL;DR keep my head on a swivel, be aware of my surroundings at all times, escape routes, exits, improvisational weapons… basically be Jack Reacher. I sit at a desk all day and peak at 2,500 steps a day because of you assholes.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.
