happy sixty years of star trek. 🖖 what a strange and wonderful feeling to be a small part of the franchise. I grew up watching and re-watching our VHS tapes of TNG & DS9. and now I use my parents' Paramount+ account to watch those same episodes again and again.

*standing up on the plane* Star Trek: Deep Space Nine remains one of the best sci-fi shows because of its embrace of complicated characters, moral ambiguity under the surface of what others see as a utopian mission statement, and a standard twenty episode season giving the show a chance to breathe.

Everyone knows Hollywood is fucked, but most people don't actually know why. The studios used the strikes as cover to cancel a full 1/3rd of TV production across the board. 1/3 of TV cast & crew are out of work. Fully. There just aren't jobs for them. Many are people who made your favorite shows.
