Exhausted, but after some very long days the Diploma work is just about complete. One more doc for hubby to read tonight and then just final checks to do tomorrow before submitting. Still convinced the Palaeography was easier than the writing of the portfolio 😂 #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Draft of the 3rd portfolio piece is done. It's been a week looking at Military records, books & diaries. Just one more draft to go before the editing begins. #Genealogy #Diploma

Yay, 1st draft of another portfolio piece written. It's been a week of establishing who and where they made bricks in the Great Bedwyn area over a 200 year period. #FamilyHistory #Genealogy

Doing the research is so much easier than writing it up 🤣. Working my way through draft 2 of one of my IHGS Diploma portfolio pieces and weirdly wishing I was doing Palaeography instead 😂. Probably doesn't help that the morning was all Heraldry not my favourite subject 😂 #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

My unexpected find. In 1834 at the Assizes the parish of Beeding, Kent appealed against the removal of John & Martha Peace from St Mary Bourne, Hants. No settlement or removal certificates have survived for St Mary Bourne this is a real gem. #OnePlaceWednesday #Genealogy #PoorLaws #FamilyHistory

I'm chasing Brickmakers & Bricklayers & this is another very helpful record from Great Bedwyn. The Hawkins family is huge & names like Thomas, John & Robert for the males are very popular. They made physical brickwalls and I'm now trying to break the genealogical ones 🤣 #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

I've been back on the trail of multiple Robert Hawkins today. Lots of snippets of their lives as Brickmakers at Great Bedwyn in the 1700s, now to workout who they belong to. This has been really interesting as this all relates to my 6th-8th Great Grandfathers. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Transcribing an Inquisition Post Mortem, these docs are in Latin (not a language I understand). Just 2 of the options I've come across to expand "pd" in the text, I always seem to pick the wrong one 🤣. A book on Latin docs & technology are being very helpful with this. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
