In the latest issue of Scientific American there was a fascinating article on Neandertal DNA in the modern human genome and its effects on neurodevelopment. At least one of the author’s is an #ActuallyAutistic scientist who studies autism from different perspectives. Admittedly if you’re not as nerdy as I am about paleoarchaeology and ancient DNA the article may be a tad bit tedious to get through (I had to read it with my dictionary app at the ready).
