When are ppl going to learn that the police aren't some magically extra-trustworthy group of people who are better than everyone else. Quite the opposite, bc they automatically are given trust and power and allowed to abuse it, the job always has and always will attract predators.

I’m a proud Minneapolis Public Schools alum and parent. After talking with MPS families, I’m deeply concerned about the district’s current plan to close 14 or more schools.

(Did I say foresight when I meant forethought? Or did I intentionally use foresight to imply you should be actively able to predict the caffeinated beverage orders of your interview team? I’ll leave that to you to decide, reader.)

“But I don’t have a mobile espresso machine!“ Well then sorry, you likely weren’t cut out to be a marketing manager after all. I don’t make the rules, it’s just the reality of the industry in 2026. You want the job? Make that tasty chilly sugary bean juice happen on the spot. It’s the only way.

Real Hustlers™ know the grind starts from the first handshake of the interview, not once you sign a contract. Prove yourself then and there by making the baddest iced mocha oat latte they’ve ever sipped, and they’ll have no choice but to hire you on the spot.

Everyone defending bringing iced coffee to an interview is just plain wrong. You shouldn’t be bringing a prepared beverage to an interview. You should bring all the ingredients and make one right there in the conference room for you AND the interviewer. Shows ambition, self-reliance, and foresight.

Is that right? No. Do I hate it? Yes. There have got to be other, equally effective ways at enabling cross-cultural creativity and empowering small businesses than this slop. But that’s the reality of why these businesses use it in this way right now.

This is just as much a language barrier issue as it is a shortcut to avoid paying for marketing materials. Immigrant-owned businesses use AI because it’s a writer and translator and artist and designer all in one. They can reach audiences farther, faster with AI than they may otherwise be able to.

That said, their privacy policy is pretty broad and sweeping... Could just be standard cover-your-ass material (most likely), could be pretense for actual deep data collection. Any marketing-savvy business these days is gonna collect a lot of data on you; how/where they use it is the question.

Digital privacy nerd here 🤓 Looking at their privacy policy, this is likely just in reference to their site being able to pull up locations near you via geolocation ~if~ you opt in. Many websites do that these days for store locators/etc. — not too unusual but definitely sounds scary out of context.
