Okay, I am going to tell a little story. It's one I have saved for the last couple years, almost nobody knows about it. But it lives in my heart. I don't know how others will feel about it, maybe something, maybe nothing. It's about the Uncanny X-Men. 1/

Thanks for listening, everyone. Also, I love the X-Men because they are survivors and because they are family. That's how we're going to make it through all this. Have a great day, everyone!

… I really want to know what the developmental trajectory for Grogu’s species is though, cos I figure he has some sort of specific developmental impairment going on

6/10 for The Mandalorian and Grogu … enjoyable enough popcorn fodder, but not a lot going on with character/narrative development, a LOT of CGI monster fights, and a fairly flat send-off if that’s the last we see of them But … Grogu remains cute ;)

Labour in Scotland transitioning to a more positive pro-independence position (even a more neutral/exploratory one), and separating itself from UK Labour, would potentially change the landscape at Holyrood a lot Wonder if they’ll ever be brave enough to?

Enjoyed this BUT didn’t think it developed enough beyond the short story and, great as they are, both Mescal and O’Connor have delivered much more intense-but-restrained 🏳️‍🌈 performances than this, the depth of emotion felt a bit lacking (also, took AGES to find a showing, surprisingly few screens!)

I usually ask kids in clinic what TV and films they’re watching and one teen this week said “The Goonies” and then followed it up with “Toy Soldiers” which is probably the most niche response I’ve ever had to that question (I was slightly obsessed with this film aged 14)

Short, intense, novel as two men (one Wee Free minister, one solitary islander) with no common language are forced together in strained circumstances on a remote island in the Clearances era Enjoyed it (thanks for rec @drjje.bsky.social!) but could have done with latter third being more developed

Honestly what worries me more if they’re sticking this clownish stuff in the foreground, what’re they planning in the background? Maybe they’re building space arks and they’re all going to fly off to Mars together That’d be lovely
