Great new book on @omnibuspress from the Clientele’s long suffering manager Andy Macleod which among many other things, details our first appearances in London. Captures the atmosphere of 1990s Camden beautifully and is also very funny, though probably far too respectful towards us.

Visit to the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in eastern Paris, favourite of Aragon and Breton. Sadly the way to the temple of the Sybil and her grotto were fenced off for repair, the state of the gypsum must have been better in the 1920s

Listening to this for the millionth time and still hearing new things - murky piano chords mixed low, vocals double tracked (or ADT?) the double tracked leads by Richard Lloyd, how much Verlaine is singing from the stomach, the beautiful EQ job. Like all truly great music it is, at times, baffling
