I believe Utah has also executed several people by firing squad within the last 20 years.

Except that's not true. A man convicted of double murder was executed by firing squad in South Carolina last year www.cnn.com/2025/03/07/u...

The French were a good one to pick for that. The central principal of French engineering is taking a solved problem and solving it a different way for national pride.

This happened to me in high school. Except I was a WLB and felt like a stud. I think the QB was trying to touch pass over me but didn't do that. Instead it just felt like I was running the flat.

Hurts has been better than Herbert in almost every major QB statistical category over the last four years. The only reason to say we should trade for Herbert is that you hate having a black quarterback so you find the idea of a mostly as good white guy appealing.

Just saw that Solak said we should trade for Herbert and I need to go lie down.

When the discipline is mostly doing rather than theory, people whose only experience is theory are hard to take seriously on the subject matter. Coworkers with MAs in Urban Planning for example have shared similar frustrations with their programs.

Legal academia would be my vote. It's insane that I had professors who never practiced a day in their lives. They went straight from Harvard, to a think tank, to professorship without ever filing a single motion.

Blanket statement, be very wary of people who don't shower on a regular basis. As a train dweeb, that's a pretty good indicator that someone is trouble.

The fun part about living in the other side of the river is every so often you see a younger yellow tag that is trying to figure out how to pump gas for the first time

everyone pumps their own gas in the sopranos, a show that famously takes place in new jersey, one of the only states where gas station attendants are supported by the government. sure. some of those scenes are supposed to be in brooklyn. but cmon. chase knows what he did was wrong.

The term "Civil Engineer" exists because for a long time engineers made things that killed people!

Given Russia's historical lack of enforcement of this type of thing and desire to get rid of the physical back-up I suspect we are talking about something that isn't funny unfortunately

I'm thinking they used raw crime data instead of normalized crime data. In raw numbers New York both has a lot of murders and is also the city on this chart where you are least likely to be murdered.

Given which cities are where I'm willing to be traffic is a heavily weighted data point.

A couple floors in a downtown highrise also do more to sell to your Fortune 500 clients that you understand what they need better than an office park by a mall.

This was part of why my wife's company moved from suburban NJ to Center City. Top brass mostly live in New York and a lot of the employees were already commuting from the city.

We can talk about Daniels laying on the turf for too long but the underlying play call in that situation is baffling.
010
Charles In Charge (of trains) @thecharles1.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
Even in that situation the play doesn't make a ton of sense. They ran a real play instead of the "get to the other hash" play. The advantage to that play is the receivers don't run down field so everyone is basically back at the line to spike it as soon as it's over.

one-shot kill by the author, much in the same way a field goal late in NFL overtime would immediately end the game

I do think there is a sort of survivor bias here. Straight men in happy, healthy, respectful relationships aren't going to go online and complain about how happy or healthy their relationship is. Instead, it's an echo chamber of people who are single for very obvious reasons.

Nick made two decisions off the top of my head that lost them that game. Take the points in the 1st and the final FG doesn't matter and don't do a squib kick at the end.

I feel bad for the guy that bought our old house a few years ago. He turned around and tried to sell at the end of last year and he ended up selling for $30k less than he paid us for it.

It has been at least 20 years since I watched that movie so that is entirely possible. Point is, easily impressed teenage me thought that movie sucked.

It's been a while but my memory of View To Kill is that it was derivative Rodger Moore Bond and boring. The other movies in this thread at least have some fun, if ridiculous, element.
