I kid you not, our paper on spatial apartheid was reviewed by apartheid itself. Literally, the (extremely famous) journal sent it to white South African reviewers who pointed out all these "papers" written by white South Africans DURING apartheid, that we failed to cite.

REALLY interesting study. Americans most alarmed about climate most strongly oppose data centres. Those most dismissive on climate have both *strong opposition* but also the *strongest support* for data centres (!!) climatecommunication.yale.edu/publications...
Survey stacked bars show majority opposition to local data centers among Alarmed (70%), Concerned (58%), and Dismissive (57%) groups; overall 56% of Americans oppose building data centers locally, with smaller shares expressing support.

“Six current and former Forest Service officials said the response was greater than what is typical for a fire of that scale that did not pose a significant threat to life or property.”
In total, about nine aircraft, including helicopters, air tankers and tactical planes, responded to the blaze on July 12, according to a Post analysis of flight paths, part of an effort that lasted a few hours and cost nearly $115,000 in federal money. The Post analysis found these assets traveled from across the West to Idaho's Alturas Lake, pear where the Cabin Creek Fire was burning.
At least some
of the aircraft were diverted from efforts to contain fires elsewhere in the state, according to two agency officials and the Post analysis of the flight paths.

I'm going to hold a grudge against Tony Evers for the rest of my life for how he meddled in this primary. If he wanted to just endorse Crowley to begin with, fine. But to convince a dropped-out candidate to get back in the race, simply because he wanted Hong to lose is despicable.

Back:

Mid Gaussian is about the consequences of normal and hierarchy. The freedom of abnormal: integrating all of our parts and choosing alignment. Humans are unique among species for our ability to manipulate our environment and condition ourselves through that manipulation. Our survival requires breaking out of our capitalistic conditioning and establishing new norms of radical care and creativity for each other and the planet.

Cakelin Fable is a multidisciplinary artist, scientist, and technologist. Disabled, immunocompromised, queer, trans, white, and a rural to urban transplant: they bring all of these lived experiences to their work. They are here to ask questions, explore the unexpected, embrace friction, and welcome the abandoned. Their 2022 visual art collection Nucleation Invitation accompanies these poems.

"Why is great value Malfoy so upset?" - mmmmbop875

Octopus beaker + cakelin (cake with circuits) logosMid Gaussian: Flatten the Hierarchy
By Cakelin Fable
Middle of page has a normal distribution of black circles under a red curve. Some circles are squished or odd shapes, especially near the edges of the distribution. Two circles have escaped the top of the distribution and are much larger than the others. One of those circles is a gear with color inside of it. Above these escaped circles is the word "MID" "Gaussian" is underneath the distribution and following the curve is "Flatten the Hierarchy".
There are gears throughout the distribution in different sizes. Some of the gears look like flowers or viruses or even a ship steering wheel. The gears escape the bottom of the distribution and grow, breaking out of the bands holding them in place. They become odd amorphous shapes in several colors and then align and integrate into one multi-colored shape.
Background of the top has colored moon, stars, and hexagons in a swirl.
