Wow. LOISH got accused of using Ai to make her art. I started following her on early deviantart. I remember first seeing her paintings in college. This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

Just ended my first convention rush of 2026! Otafest in Calgary was super fun, I met (and saw again) some very nice people and had the opportunity to travel a bit. So was Anime North in Toronto, I was surrounded with friends and had a good time overall, despite the absolutely terrible weather. (1/2)

So I finally tried and beat Croak's demo (I don't use Steam that much), so here's a quick review. I wasn't sure at first when I read it was a kaizo type game, but the difficulty doesn't start too high at the start and gradually gets harder, making it accessible for non veterans. (1/2)

Croak, the game I'm working on with @woodrunnergames, is now available to try for free! The demo features 3 playable levels (4 if you count the super-secret one), so you can get a good feel of its controls and mechanics. A must try if you're into Kaizo and precise platforming!

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.
