Snow day! There's even a travel warning! :D I worked in a grocery store for about a decade, back in the aughts, and that taught me so much about how people freak out at the thought of having to stay one day at home. :P #fandomold

Details from today's snowy walk (the last one before Weather occurs). #NayePhoto

A clutch of red rowan berries covered in a fluffy pile of snow.

A few threads of spiderweb on the underside of a fallen log - they're covered in frost. The log is full of lichen.

Some kind of dried flower heads covered in snow crystals.

A screenshot of my OC, Sploopy, with different reactions and faces. It's a work in progress.

Supper for me tonight consisted of: A hand full of pretzels and cheddar dip. Half a microwaved burrito. And a can of chicken noodle soup. #Adulting at it's finest. ;)

@lydy.bsky.social Reminding you that you can detach your post from anyone's post quote reposting you should you so desire. In case it becomes too much of a pile on. A nifty Bluesky feature. I hope that made sense, I feel like I should've said "post" more somehow.

If you can't find it, write it, as the old saying goes. Or join every fanfest and ficathon to kingdom come and suggest it/ask for it/buy it.

Anyway, next time you feel annoyed or frustrated by the lack of fanworks or attention for a genre or pair or dynamic, try organizing an event. Start small! Maybe just your own mutuals. Or go big! But don't police what other ships those people enjoy. And most of all, be kind.

Be an evangeIist for your ship! When you post about your ship, pretend you're making a pitch for why it's good, not why OTHER ships are bad. Think about reasons why you ship something. Talk about those reasons! No one is out there shipping characters simply "because the other pair sucks".

"How did THAT pair get so many fics? That's fucked up, when OTHER PAIR is right there!!" The secret: Positivity. Fandom communities where ppl are positive and encourage others are the best soil to grow in.

I DO understand the frustration of having a rarepair, of seeing a ship and dynamic you think is SO GOOD and "why can't other people see it?" Some of my ships only have 2 fanfics & then 1 of them is MINE. But the "solution" is not to yell at ppl for not making other fanworks. A thread 🧵

Today’s quest: translate what I assume is Elvish from the sign on the door up at the international rose test Gardens in Portland, Oregon. Any help will be appreciated. #JRRTolkien #Elvish

The photograph shows a plaque that reads, “ Rose garden office” on a door. a sign below the plaque has large flowers in two corners and some text that seems to me to be written in Elvish with the quotation attributed to Tolstoy.

If you have the means, it's never a bad time to browse this feed for Palestinians to support. A lot of these campaigns are people supporting entire families, including elderly parents and young children, and some haven't even reached single digit funding targets. Every little bit helps!
