I agreee, and you see it a lot here too. Even the most inoffensive, meaningless opinions imaginable inevitably get at least one condescending response or snarky little comment trying to goad you into an argument.

The fandom wiki is so bad. You can’t even scroll or anything, it’s just one big fucking ad. It’s a sticky banner AT BEST, often a pop up AND banners at worst. Absolutely insane.

Exactly. I'm already there looking to pay them ffs. Worst part was how annoying it was because the ad took up so much space it was hard to navigate. So it's annoying AND counterintuitive.

I’m writing a post that talks about Blackstone, but just to get a taste of the kind of corporation we’re dealing with, they are VERY invested in fossil fuels, real estate (meaning they buy up all the housing and then rent it back to us), and, of course, data centers.

I read Life After Cars (shoutout @thewaroncars.bsky.social) recently, and in one chapter it talks about how the sound of cars can fuck with animals, changing their breeding patterns and (rightfully) causing heaps of anxiety. This loud blaring from data centers surely must cause similar problems.

Watching videos of neighborhoods near AI data centers is insane. There’s no way that shit should be allowed. That loud, constant blaring would drive anyone insane. And the light pollution is so bad that it’s basically day time, all the time. That has to be tantamount to psychological torture.
