ooh, I have got my hands on @ajdemas.bsky.social 's new book, The Summer Pass! Unfortunately I need to reread vol 1, The Boy Bride, first, to remind myself of all the juicy, complex, intertwined worldbuilding and plot and characters. Oh no. This is terrible. What a fate. Save me. (DON'T SAVE ME.)

I recently discovered that Amazon now lets authors distribute ebooks to libraries and still keep the title in KDP, and now all my m/m books are available in Overdrive and Hoopla (and also various print retailers).

To celebrate finally kayaking, we are having this beer with dinner. I have really no idea what to expect, but it was at the farmers market last weekend and c'mon, we couldn't not buy it.
A can of beer called Stuck on S'more, with a cartoon of a s'more (chocolate bar and toasted marshmallow between graham crackers) with a description reading "Pastry Stout with Marshmallow, Graham Cracker, Chocolate, Coconut & Espresso".

For various reasons (travel, workload, weather, air quality) we hadn't managed to go kayaking yet this year, but today we finally did! Not for long, but it was lovely, and my new kayak (anniversary gift from G) handles so much better than my old one 😍 🛶

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

Pizza with an onion jam base, topped with bacon, tart apple slices, and a scattering of smoked cheddar; a touch of smoked maple syrup stirred into the onions. A little odd but very tasty!

To my friends from LiveJournal

I still think about you Wonder if you finally quit, Do you still speak to your mom?

I remember when you went to Japan How you swore you'd never forgive him.

I can't remember to take my meds but I remember you wanted to live on a houseboat. It's a strange intimacy, all of us unspooling across decades of internet space Like balls of yarn leaving a trail behind us of everywhere and everyone we've ever been

I hope you got your houseboat.

I hope you got everything.

A riddle from my childhood: A man is in a bad car accident. The cop on the scene cries in horror, "OMG, it's my son!" The man is rushed to hospital and into surgery. Chief surgeon enters OR and cries in horror, "OMG, it's my son!" No stepparents, adoption, or mistaken identity. How is this possible?

Opposed to using AI for her software-engineering job, Erin Maus secured something of a miracle from her employer: a religious exemption.

Maus, a Unitarian Universalist, said she proposed the special treatment in April, citing environmental and ethical objections to AI that don't align with her religious beliefs. She also said she consulted an employment lawyer and her local chapter's minister to help make her case.

Maus was granted the accommodation in mid-May, according to an email seen by Business Insider.

In case nobody has posted this btw. Jpg is cruddy but alt text has the text
If you EVER think Anthony Head is anything less than an angel then you’d best remember that I have always been a huge fan of his and we’ve always had a little contact over the years and he heard I’d come out as Trans and was having a hard time and that I was kind of sad that the photos I had from conventions with him were of me with long hair and no binder and they were all signed to “Sarah” and so he invited me to spend the day with him at his farm and he picked me up from the station and we just hung out and had lunch and he insisted on paying and took loads of photos and had them printed on photo paper the same day so he could sign them to Jay, along with other photos of him as Giles and Uther and he literally spent five hours chatting with me and got all of the pronoun stuff right every time and then he dropped me off at the station, gave me a final massive hug, waved me through the ticket barrier and insisted I message him when I got home so he knew I got back safe.
