If this report is right that Musk is trying to engineer Ukraine's defeat, then his motivations are more complex than just making money and avoiding liability. This move is not the way to make the GOP win. So Musk cares MORE about hurting Ukraine than about winning races. Ask why - who he answers to.

Do not call yourself a lawyer if you are not admitted to a bar, or you could risk prosecution.

Shockratees @thatshockratees.bsky.social · 7h
But in legal practice, claiming to be a lawyer in any capacity while not being licensed by a bar is “holding oneself out” to practice law. Since she was never barred anywhere/anytime, it’s a crime.

I am pretty sure that the licensing requirements for doctors, like the licensing requirements for lawyers, bar you from pretending to be a physician or a lawyer equally. It’s fraud. And it’s evasion of the licensing and testing requirements.

Shockratees @thatshockratees.bsky.social · 7h
True. And some of this is probably based on false equivalence with other countries that establish two categories of licensed legal professional. Eg, the UK has different qualifications for “solicitors” and “barristers.” Not true anywhere in the USA. “Lawyer” and “attorney” are exact synonyms here.

When you claim the title, you are considered to be offering to accept clients. And she was. According to her posted resume, she served as general counsel for a business, which was unauthorized/unlicensed practice of law absent a bar admission.

Shockratees @thatshockratees.bsky.social · 7h
False. In all jurisdictions in the US, it is illegal to “hold yourself out” as a lawyer or attorney if you are not licensed to the bar of that jurisdiction. Thus, as has been amply discussed here, it was a crime for Zachariah to claim she was a lawyer on TV, Linked In, resume, etc.

Losing that larger amount changed my life THEN. Gaining a much smaller amount of 30k would change my life NOW. THOSE ARE BOTH LIFE CHANGING AMOUNTS. You can’t evaluate the degree of life change only by gross totals.
110 0
Shockratees @thatshockratees.bsky.social · 7h
Your theory purports to define “what is life changing” and “what is not life changing.” People’s circumstances and needs, not just gross totals, determine how much will change their lives. You’re erasing the life variable while purporting to measure and compare it.
120 0
Shockratees @thatshockratees.bsky.social · 7h
See, there’s the problem. The size of the amount is not the only factor in whether it changes a life. The need that it meets is also a life change, and your theory can just spread that away. Immediate 30k would change my life and so many others immediately. Make that down payment. Debt liquidation.
