thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 13hAce Combat Zero was great. That 3hrs converts to a 9hr completion time. I went “Knight” all the way, which actually means I took out the bare minimum necessary targets and let neutralized enemies fly away. My laziness/efficiency is rarely so well rewarded. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 19hI see Games Workshop is trending. I don't play the miniatures games, but I did play Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions. I loved that game. I even got "certified" to be an ambassador/teacher for it. I won a store championship & got a super cool mat. Rest in Peace, Champions. Too many TCGs die young. 020
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026As someone who has bounced off this games multiple times, I highly recommend considering whatever cheats are available. 100
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I had a good time playing Blue Lightning and California Games while “watching” 21 Jump Street. 020
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I feel like anyone with a bunch of Legos could make this, making it a bit of a tough sell at $67. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Ace Combat Zero’s story does a very good job of making me feel bad about enjoying the game. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I keep my SNAC/Reflex adapters in one of these, and some SNES carts in another. Might be just SFC. I can’t actually remember if the SNES carts fit, come to think of it. Either way, so far, so good. 010
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 04/10/2026It’s the only remaining game in my DC backlog, and I actually bought it back in the day but never got around to it. I decided to finally do that about 3 years ago, and the DC just crapped out. Obviously, I’m in no rush, but it’d be really nice to finally play through it. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Illbleed doesn’t seem to render the MC’s hairpin properly on the emulators I’ve tried, and it’s pretty distracting. This is just what I need (since my DC died and my copy of the game is collecting dust). 121
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026If there’s one thing I’ve learned from playing Ace Combat, it’s that I’ve got a lot to learn. Put a tutorial in the game, and I can’t wait to skip it. Let me play and I’ll find a way … but then spend two hours watching Ace Combat 101 videos in between sessions. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Imagine being in that room and still being the dumbest MFer there. 010
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I pre-ordered Ace Combat 8, and all I got was this lousy countdown. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 01/10/2026What’s impressive to me is that in addition to working as head of technology & lead rendering engineer, these people also work for marketing to write glib, uninspired copy designed to be delivered unnaturally in a “dev diary” video. Or maybe they each used a token to write some vapid opening lines. 010
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I went out for bread, but took a detour to a couple of local second-hand shops right near the grocery store. I haven’t played a realistic basketball game since Bulls vs Blazers, and I wanted to try “The Journey” in FIFA. I never saw Black Sabbath live, and this’ll be my first Star Trek novel. 020
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 30/09/2026What a worthless turd. I only bought mine because I wanted a simple SmartTube option. 010
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I played a Tall Tale with two friends in Sea of Thieves last night, and I think that is probably the coolest thing in the game. I love just sailing around and fighting skeletons and digging up treasure, but the structured narrative & puzzle-solving were exactly what I needed. 000
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I beat Ace Combat 2 today, and it was just so much fun. I feel like I finally learned how to play this sort of game. Between Top Gun putting me to sleep and F15 Fighting Falcon absolutely baffling me, it was a rocky 40-yr start, but I’m finally coming around on these newfangled plane games. 010

thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I like that feature, but I can’t use it because my phone has one of those finger rings. Phones are too big. Jobs was right about the thumb range IMO. I put the reader on top of the fridge the other day and couldn’t get it off without some effort. Crazy that we still don’t know how magnets work. 010
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Yeah, that looks good. Now that I know I like this, I could see spending more for the light and universal charging. So far, I’ve only read a little bit of Frankenstein and the whole of The Vampire, but that’s enough for me to know that it’s really nice to have a good NOT MY PHONE option. 110
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I got it directly from their site and even with shipping, it ended up being cheaper than from Amazon. They had a coupon code that probably circumvents the BS monopoly tactic of requiring 3rd parties to maintain the lowest price on Amazon proper. 100
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 28/09/2026This is the Xteink X3, the smallest they’ve got. It doesn’t have a backlight, but I bought it to use when I’m out and about during the day. They have a slightly larger model with a backlight, though. There might be better brands & models, but this one’s good enough for me, and it was pretty cheap. 010
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Getting a small e-reader ended up being a pretty good idea. It’s small enough I can carry it along with my phone. It weighs just a little more than my watch, and it’s now chock full of classics from Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks. 100
thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Took me a minute there. I was like WTF, Frankenstein is from like 1815. 030

thaKingRocka @thakingrocka.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The nice thing about being 14 years behind on a game series is that when you feel the excitement of the zeitgeist surrounding the new, you can go back to the old that you missed. I might give that first GBA Fire Emblem game a go. To this day, sprite-work still wows me in a way 3D models just don’t. 000
