It's a really creepy feeling when you're reading a long (supposedly) thought out message from someone and you realize that AI was likely involved. Not only do I think less of the sender, but I throw the whole message away. If you can't write a message yourself, I'm not interested in reading it.

I'm so annoyed at Mayor Her right now. No lighting all along Shepard on our ride home from the Saints. But at least we made a bunch of unhoused folks pick up and move. Dorothy Day looked overrun this afternoon when we biked by too. I hope Mayor Her is happy. Our city has gone backwards.

8/4/26
On 8/1/26, the Winona Police Department discovered that all eight of our city's Flock cameras were missing. That evening, an officer noted that there'd been no recent activity on the cameras. Officers subsequently checked the various locations where the Flock cameras were placed and found that the poles were cut down near the base. Officers located the poles nearby in the weeds, but the cameras had been removed. As of 8/4/26, the cameras have not been located.
The stolen cameras were stationed in the following areas:
Two near Hwy 61/Bundy Blvd
Two near Hwy 61/Hwy 14
Two near Hwy 14/Knopp Valley Dr
Two near Hwy 43/Homer Rd
The timeframe of the thefts appears to be between July 29th and August 1st.
The cost to replace each camera and pole is approximately $3,000.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Outside of the St Paul courthouse, protesters are fighting with agents. The feds are now charging 15 people with impeding immigration enforcement in Minneapolis- under the guise of "antifa". As an aside- in LA they have failed to obtain guilty verdicts in most cases brought against protesters.

At the hearing in the federal courthouse in St. Paul. Fifteen people were indicted on conspiracy charges etc. and are making their first appearances. The courtroom is full, with about 100 people. Five defendants came into the courtroom, a couple with fists raised, which some in crowd mirrored. (1)
