I always bounce off Metroidvania's that try to do "good" combat. Mostly because they don't mean good. They mean complex. Hollow Knight has good combat. Blasphemous has good combat. Many games have good combat. But people try to put character action combat online n there and...

I feel like I have definitely already played games where boss behavior changes based on what weapon you're using. Also, minor note, uh Sony doesn't make Souls games? Bloodborne was a long time ago and they clearly don't care about it.

Heartbroken to have just learned Terminator Zero was quietly cancelled at some point and won't be getting further seasons. Best thing to be done with the franchise since The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Also cancelled btw. And that was the best thing to happen since T2. Salvation had potential 😔

You do Shovel Knight. You evoke a NES game. You don't make a game that actually runs on the NES. But you're still keeping costs down because you're making a NES game and not some bleeding edge AAA thing that needs the newest hardware. Or a N64 platformer, or a PSX Survival Horror, or a PS2...

My only push back is that there's literally nothing stopping folk from making "older games" for the hardware we all literally own right now. You don't need to rerelease the PS2 to make a game that is of the same scope, style and development budget of a PS2 game. Nor to sell it to us on modern tech
