I really like this graphic design aesthetic that's popping up now, its similar to Marathon's "graphic realism" style, but I don't know if it has a name yet. The new Star Wars racing game seems to use it for its UI.

Not sure if people know Wakefield was trying to sell a competing measles vaccine when he made up his fraudulent study about the MMR. So, up until this afternoon my mom had a very well developed native Pacific Northwest pollinator garden, with big rhododendrons, ferns, currants etc. She hired a landscaper to "clean" it, meaning tidy it up, they took it to mean rip everything out to bare soil. Everybody's pretty upset RN

I'm up to halo 3:ODST now. I really like how experimental it is compared to 1-3, it also fixes the brutes from 3 so they're not complete pushovers, which is great. There seems to be an emphasis on accessibility too, i havent got lost in a level once so far, a big deal compared to earlier games

Noticed lately that sci fi from when i was a kid totally failed to predict batteries getting really good so fast. For example the warthog from Halo and the "gears" from Heavy Gear both use (hydrogen iirc) ICE engines, if they were created today they'd both use lithium-air batteries or something
