And to be honest I hesitated to even include those last two paragraphs because I feel it sounds like a whiny and ungrateful sob story or a ploy. After all, there are a lot of people who have it so much worse than me, and that’s something I’ve always struggled with about asking for help.

But it’s hard to even think that big when I’m dumping everything into insurance premiums, auto and home payments, groceries, so much dogfood, unexpected repairs, things so many other people are struggling with. It’s hard to think about major dogsled races when I’m struggling with mundane expenses.

I’d hoped to slide by (or at least squeak by) going into the Summer and maybe do some fundraising for my team, kennel improvements and bigger races going into the Winter season (hopefully in tandem with releasing my video series). You know, *fun* expenses!

I’ve picked up my second job again (actually landed another position in a different department there which I’m SUPER STOKED about - hence the extra workdays with the onboarding process), but it does come with a hell of a commute - hence my getting pretty antsy about the situation with the tires.

The last two Summers I’ve worked two jobs, up ten-day work-weeks. And it definitely takes its toll, leaving little time for creative projects or even to really think. I’m trying REALLY hard not to have to do that this year (though I just realized I only have one day off the first half of this month)
