I applied for a PPTA teacher sabbatical the day I took my current profile pic. I wanted to remember how confident and accomplished I felt that day. I thought my proposal was excellent and well-written and felt really good about my chances. Just got notified today that I didn’t get one. So gutted.

This photo does NOT do justice to how steep this section was! But today I went on my first big walk since my #anklefusion. 10.8km and 4h 48min. Now in my bed after a lovely bath. Knackered!

Sometime in the coming week I will find out if I get the sabbatical I’ve applied for. If not, I have wait another year to apply. It’s nerve wracking. I can’t allow myself to get excited but I so want to start planning for my bucket-list trip of a lifetime. Argh!!

Excellent weekend of #kobudo (weapons) training with Kyoshi Takuma Higashi, 8th Dan instructor. Didn’t go so well for my Sensei’s #nunchaku (that he was given by his Sensei many years ago). Was quite dramatic when I smashed the Bo with them and a piece flew across the room! Oops.

#Taskmaster birthday party tonight. I went to the op shop to see if I could get a fabric similar to the taskmaster background. Found this lace for three dollars and I’ve got it in front of a black bed sheet. Not bad eh! I’ve also borrowed a throne from the drama department at school. Can’t wait!

A double dose of church today. Arrived at 9:30 to find we had a power cut. Luckily the power came back in in time to get the sound board fired up and sound checks done before 10am! No heating though :(

How an audiobook helped me impress my husband: a thread. So my hubby is a plane nerd. He loves aviation, particularly military jets. Goes to air shows and likes to catch all the action with his massive camera lens setup. I’ve been to 2 or 3 air shows with him but it’s not my thing.
