I just upgraded from macOS 15 to macOS 27. I am very glad I skipped macOS 26 and migration was pretty smooth (so far - knock on wood). I am still not a fan of the visual changes - but still better than macOS 26. Let's celebrate the small wins.

I just found typesafe.ai I still do not have enough details to decide what to think of it. But the classifier interface feels so much more suited to a lot of tasks that people somehow stuff into the LLM pipeline. It feels a lot more like classic machine learning.

Oh wow, Xcode 27.2 has a new project file format (xcproj) that is standard JSON, and an open format: I've been waiting for something like this for most of my career! 🎉

I you want o have a quick laugh: I just shot myself in the foot because Apple insists that CFBundleVersion cannot be reset for a given bundle. Now I have to add 30000000000000000 to the bundle version for this project - forever. I'll add this to my list of Apple frustrations.

Two papers came out last week that suggest classical asymmetric cryptography might indeed be broken by quantum computers in just a few years. That means we need to ship post-quantum crypto now, with the tools we have: ML-KEM and ML-DSA. I didn't think PQ auth was so urgent until recently.

The risk that cryptographically-relevant quantum computers materialize within the next few years is now high enough to be dispositive, unfortunately.
